As you all are noticing, my life is also quite busy and my visits in the forum are not so often as in earlier days.
But it is also an important issue, that it is - especially while i am on travel - very difficult or nearly impossible to have a "quick look".
So i must have to count in at least 30 minutes until one hour for a visit here, which i had not to do with the older versions.

I am sharing the same opinion, that we would loose some kind of a family, if we close the forum.
I would be very sad about this, especially if i remember, which influence the forum had on our holiday experiences and meetings.

To mention the costs: Cecilia said it right: Please send us the bill! You have our mail adresses, we all are able to do online banking, it is a question of minutes!
Actually it is a little bit difficult to search months and years back to the last contribution to get the data of the bank account (did not write it down, sorry).
You know that we are willing to contribute, so just remember us. Don't be scared, we are waiting for it!

        I second that>

Thank you very much to both ombugge and Ralf. I'll keep you all posted as soon as the bill arrives in the mail. I have spoken to the webhotel- operators and they will discuss it with superiors when it comes to any discounts for us. Fingers crossed!

Two news I could share with you all tonight:

I'll be heading to Hong Kong in August to do a presentation in two subjects: about guest relations as well as a presentation about LNG-gas powered shipping. So excited. I might be able to share the presentation(s) on my youtube-channel afterwards, so keep an eye out.

Second "news" is not really bg news, but captainsvoyage is also on Instagram (for those that hangs out there). Username is naturally just "captainsvoyage".

Wish you all a great Sunday night and a great new week starting tomorrow morning! Remember, tomorrow is the first day in the rest of your life!

I got to your blog first today before I realised you had popped up here!

bLOG updated now after I re-connected my brain. I guess it's a result of trying to finish the entry prior to having to go for nightwatch.

Off course you are both right - port side alongside. Which I was THINKING, but obviously was not writing.

"This is your Captain speaking..... "

In case you are wondering and in case you'd like to know, I'll be on the road (as IN THE AIR) again starting this coming Tuesday: destinations will include Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand (off course) AND most likely JAPAN as well! Hopefully, and I do think a lot about it, I need you to pray for my safety, so that I will not be caught out in a newclear apocalypse started by either that guy with the funny haircut in North Korea or that guy with another funny hair-do at the White House.

During this journey, I have plans booked up till the final minute. Some more exciting than the others, but there will also be a lot of work-related activity. At Hong Kong I will be a guest speaker at a convention (will share a link to the youtube LIVE broadcast either here or on my bLOG if the technical issues are sorted out). Once the LIVE broadcast is over, it will NOT be stored on youtube for later. Like on previous journey's, I will at least upload some travel vLOGs along the way to my CaptainsVoyage youtube account.

Naturally, I'm most excited about the trip to Hong Kong (flying Thai Airways A380 First Class), and my planned visit to decomissioned aircrafts in Thailand, as well as a lot of other really cool places.

For my main site Captain's bLOG, I have been trying to figure out a good - and simple - way to move my www.captainsvoyage.com bLOG onto the laptop (from the desktop) so that I could update the bLOG along the way, but that proved a bit tricky - and then the time seems like it is NOT sufficient before departure.

Since our CVF now is as fast and great as it is, I will try logging in once in a while too check up on all of you!

Welcome to you all to my Captain's bLOG, and other updates at my main site.

Welcome to you all to my youtube channel called CaptainsVoyage!

With my kindest regards and most sincere respects to all of you!

FINALLY, after several months of hair-pulling, I think I might have managed to find a way to upload my website again. So far, I have managed to post three updates on my bLOG and my travel bLOG...

I would naturally appreciate all your visits and comments.

I have so many (by now) old (new) news to share with you all. I have literally already prepared nearly 30 entries from my travels and experiences, but I can't post them all at once... now, I have to portion them out each day. It would please me endlessly to have someone actually reading them, sharing them and naturally, also commenting on them.

Back on dry land again - expect some stories to come up on my bLOG and on my travel bLOG in the days ahead.

It's been a hectic time with night watches and day watches on Korsfjord, a guest-appearance on Glutra as well as several days at Rissa Yards for maintenance, life raft testing and some maritime love and care.

I have already uploaded a new story to my travel bLOG.... it's about my visit to a retired Boeing 747 in a rice-field just outside Khorat in Thailand.

CaptainsVoyage main site update two pages today.... the never-ending NCL timeline has been updated with new information, as well as a correction! There are still a couple of holes and missing dates in that timeline-story, so if you have anything to add and/or correct, I'd naturally be really happy to hear from you as soon as possible. Some conflicting dates have been marked in red-letters.

The bLOG entry is about Norwegian Cruise Line and an article in the Miami Herald.

Oh, my goodness, why am I doing this?

I have just sorted through some 7621 images that I have taken over the past year - I wonder if there anyone else that asks themselves WHY they take these images, and their feelings around loading them over to a hard drive rarely to be seen again. I love taking pictures but....

Looking at all these pictures, naturally, they make me remember so many moments that otherwise would easily be forgotten. I especially notice this with people: people I do not have a photograph of, I easily forget.. but if I have a picture of someone, that someone will not be forgotten as fast. I guess we use pictures to help us remember all the small moments that gets lost in our brains.

Oh, well, got to go share some in the bLOG... hopefully, some of you will make a short visit.

I wish I had just nought point something percent of your energy Captain! - all those images sorted and I haven't even looked through my latest trip photos yet! (And that's just your images - in addition to your writing and everything else you've been doing lately.) I felt I should attempt some reply to this post though.

I tend to take more photos of places than people, but it amounts to the same thing. I think we both take pictures to capture the moment, the 'now'. The act of selecting the framing intensifies that 'now' moment, as if we had gained increased awareness and extra senses. It seems quite a Buddhist thing when considered in that way. And having experienced 'now' so intensely, so the remembrance of the past is stronger just as you say.

These thoughts connect to something else that has been taking up my time recently. It is nearly November, and this forum will suddenly look very different. There are images of yours that I will always be able to just shut my eyes and see clearly. Others I wanted to look at one last time, or had forgotten about or maybe did not have the same significance to me at the time you posted them. I have access to look at many of your images of Trondheim elsewhere, and so it is the threads in the Thailand section where I have been spending most time in the last weeks.

Also the '365' and '366', because dates, anniversaries, coincidences in time interest me a lot, and I will forever be grateful to you for taking me with you on those two year long journeys.

May I be so bold as to ask your permission to copy a few of your images?
I was about to say 'for my own private delight', but the first ones are images of Serenissima that I have had the CVF links to on my iPad and so could show the occasional guest I met on my voyages that seemed interested in the ship's history. I have my own images of her first visit home to Trondheim, so I am just thinking of the drone views at Ila that you interspersed in my Panama trip report.
Then there is the most special image of all - your childhood painting of Harald Jarl.
The others are also very dear to me:
The two images I thought of as a pair, and called "Your two countries, your two roads"
366 day 97 "This is your Captain speaking"
366 day 98 "Trust and Faith"
366 day 69 "Off the dock, off the scale, off....."
I know where all these are so there is nothing required of you …only your permission and blessing.

Although thinking about that day 69, I was never quite sure where you had taken it. Can you remember?

                          Dear Lady C..

Rest assured, hadn't it been for your interest in my many thousands of images, I would probably be very much alone here, and also, most likely, have given up on many of my various web-presences a long time ago.

Certainly, you may off course copy some of my images as you wish. How could I decline such a polite please"?

My childhood painting of the Harald Jarl - I forgot about that! How narcissistic of me to having shared that! So embarrassing... hahahahaha. Take me for what I am, and you'll be just fine. I'm to old now to start changing the way I am. LOL

I actually read your post last night and got completely lost in looking through my two 365/366 projects. Looking at some of the images, I even felt a bit distant to some of them, as I could not have possibly been the one who once took them. The value of these two projects certainly become more interesting for myself as time goes by.

That day 69-image is blurry to me... I just can't remember WHERE it was taken. It's not like any place I remember... it certainly must be along the fjord somewhere, and most likely in the Ranheim area.... the question is where. I know of two other place where they have a platform extending into the fjord like this, but they don't look anything like this one. If I ever remember, I'll let you know.

Thank you so very very much.

The masterpiece that is Day 69 was actually the day I came to see you at work aboard Korsfjord in the afternoon, so yes most likely you took it on the way to work - I think you were on nightshifts at the time.
Perhaps one day I’ll find the place.

Apparently, Google search engines doesn't like blogs that aren't updated at least once daily. In order to satisfy google, I have therefore created three new bLOG entries as well as one travel bLOG entry.

I wish I was sure you were speaking 100% tongue in cheek in the desire to satisfy the G and thus gain hundreds of views and followers, but am a tiny bit feeling you might not be. Anyway, I've read the 4 blog entries, and although I know I ought to comment at least once to satisfy my Captain (and although I'd have an extra hour to do it as daylight saving ends tonight!) I think I must go now.
Wishing you a very goodnight and sweet dreams.
