Thank you all for the thumbs up and well-wishes.

With my past experience working in local airlines, with a background from luxury cruise-lines, and with a handful years working as a Public Relations Manager for Thailand's largest real estate developer, I got one of my feet inside as well as the chance to meet a lot of influential people in the right places. Networking was a great part of my past and these encounters are now producing fruits that can be harvested for my own best (isn't that cryptic, then I don't know).

My assignment this autumn was supposed to be relatively short but they were so pleased with my meticulous performance that they asked me to continue what I was doing. In the past, I had always thought my tedious and meticulous behavior was bordering insanity and a curse, but now finally, I realize that it's actually a good thing.

It probably sound very much like bragging, and for that I'm sorry, but all those limousines are a part of the first class experience and privileges offered. Mind you, it's been hectic and absolutely no joyride. But on the whole, it's been such a rewarding and humbling experience, that I have problems finding the right words to fully describe it.

The fun and truly memorable part was when one of the big chief's in charge said that it wasn't only the fact that this foreigner spoke, wrote and read the language fluently, but even better than the locals and confident enough to correct people who had spoken the local language for a lifetime longer than the length of my own life.

More later as I now need to pack my suitcase again and iron my shirts!

I've just edited out this post, having realised I was too late to catch Captain here with my chirpy comments!

This all sounds quite mysterious, although perhaps in another way obvious, as to your next step after this assignment. Whatever happens, I wish you the very best.

Dear friends and members of the CVF family!

Please do pardon me as I in less than 32 hours step away from the helm for a while again.... to say it in the simplest terms, I will be off the grid again.

On Tuesday January 17th, a direct Thai Airways aircraft really wants to take me from Stockholm and back to Bangkok. As soon as I arrive in Bangkok, I will be heading to the North East and a very, very, very, very, rural "village" without 4G, 3G or even an E cellphone signal. I might head to a nearby city occasionally, and get intermittent Internet access, but for the most of the time, I will be as far away as if I had been on the moon.

I'm really looking forward to this journey of discovery back to what I consider as my second (or first) homeland. Naturally, I will bring along my camera(s).

Images will in time be placed primarily on my bLOG as the largest audience appears to be there, rather than here.

Sadly though, I'm currently having serious upload problems with my CV.com (the agony of updated software and website building), so I guess I have something to figure out when I return to Norway again.

Once I'm back in Norway, I won't be too long - just to do my scheduled duties on the ship - and as soon as they are done, Thai Airways really wants me right back in Bangkok, Thailand.

As mentioned before, 2016 was an awesome year, and I have all reasons to believe that 2017 will be even greater - despite what my horoscope says (more like horrorscope).

Take care and to be quite selfish, let's pray for my safety on these discoveries ahead.
With best regards from Jan-Olav Storli

Have a safe and pleasant trip. I will have to wait until May for my next holiday trip. I everything is running as planned, we will head towards Ireland then, a place where we never have been before. I am so glad to hear that you will have the opportunity to do two trips in such a short time. Have fun!

Well, just in time before you wonder off into "4G, 3G or even an E cellphone signal NOT-land", let me just say: have a great experience, enjoy life, fly safe. And as Ralf say, have fun

Dear all friends and family here at CVF!

In just about 38 hours, I will once again be heading back to the Land of Smiles.... this time I will also fly..... (wait for it....) ..... Thai Airways (off course).

TG955 from Oslo on Tuesday that is.

I will be away for another 3 weeks again before I set my feet back on Norwegian soil. Once I return, I will be on the shores of Norway for about 16 days and then, if all goes as per booking, I will be on the way to Thailand again on March 28th for another three weeks, then again on May 2nd for another 3 weeks.... no rest in sight for the restless.

Do not worry, this time I might actually drop by here from time to time as I will actually have some sort of connectivity during my stay.

As a colleague of mine at my nautical job said earlier this week: "you must really not like winter here in Norway"......

Truth be told, and it may no longer be a secret, I have never felt completely at home or truly comfortable here (but that kind of honest talking will be another entry for the bLOG at CV.com instead).

I'm kind of an odd-ball to say at least, and that is why I have chosen to commute the way I do. My closest friends (nearly all my friends) are in Thailand, my family is in Thailand, and therefore, also my life is there. Rest assured, I will be truly happy and content with life there... and I guess that is the most important thing, right?

Strange how small the world actually has become.... oh, I could go on and on with this subject.
With best regards from Jan-Olav Storli
