Well, late as I can be to enter some threads, I might be too late in this case.
Nevertheless, I wish you a safe journey to Perth, a merry Christmas and a happy new year when 2012 shows up!!!!!!!!

(Wish I could go with you, as I have a former colleague from Swire here in Kristiansund living there. He's actually an australian who worked for us a few years, but wanted to go back to his home country and town to study.
Well, here I am doing what I do best; going OT. But this is what 'connection' I personally have with Perth).

              Captains Christmas Tree!

I expect it was too late last night for our Captain to log in here with a link to his latest time lapse video…but I have seen it on YouTube and simply can’t wait to share it with you all…he has decorated a huge Christmas tree!

This was my comment on YouTube, but it was really hard to limit it to 500 characters! :-
It's amazing, wonderful, cheerful...and GIGANTIC! -love the placing of the star on top! Such assured decorating technique. I've watched this so many times but never managed to detect a "where shall I put this" hesitation. I'd never have thought of placing the tinsel vertically like that. Always had horizontal loops when I was a child until Mum decided we wouldn't have a "messy tree" anymore. But then she didn't have YOU to tidy up afterwards! I like that bit! Lookchin and friends look DELIGHTED!

Just saw this delightful video myself, and even though we have a tradition of doing the tree on the 23rd December, I can sence a feeling of envy of someone who is about to cross the finish line in the Christmas preparations.
                Great job, J-O!!!

I'm not even close to the "finish-line" before Christmas.... but, for someone that doesn't celebrate Christmas, I'm early decorating a tree this year. Much because of my work-schedule during Christmas and New Year, but much also because I love the smell of the forest in the house...

There is also a version 2.0 of the same decoration:

Strangely, the smell of the tree has vanished.... must be a low quality tree.

May I shoot in that I would LOVE to see others making Christmas movies as well.... baking, decorating, cleaning, making a snowman, ...

It would be an awesome "gift" to see others putting up some kind of video-response....
