    THIS IS AMSTERDAM

After my cruise aboard Fram, I spent few days in Amsterdam, my first visit since twenty years.
Here are few pictures from this nice and friendly city.

Don't remember where I parked my bike...

The narrow facades are one of the numerous charms of Amsterdam.

        Great photos Yves.

Really admire the Dutch ability for two grown-ups to ride one bike - usually with the lady on the luggage rack still looking elegant!
        Cheers,

        Mark.

I'm not sure about the looking elegant bit, but in my distant youth I had a few such rides and found it surprisingly easy to balance.

In the old days, there were not street numbers, often replaced by "working designs" (my guide book says).

Once upon a time....A shoemaker wanted to be a seafarer...

Very enjoyable pictures. I did not realise up to now, that they oviously do not like straight vertikal lines in Amsterdam!

Compared with Paris for instance, Amsterdam is a lot more flowered.

After a visit to the museums, nothing more pleasant than a walk along the canals.

One of my favourite places in the heart of the city, the Beginhof.

Fantastic images from a city that surprises me a little, even though I have been to Amsterdam quite a few times already in the past. I guess there is a whole lot more to explore and that cities like this will be well worth returning to again after a while.
