I have long forgotten the name of this succulent, but I love it at this time of the year.

A Wherrygirl Wallpaper: Rudbeckia, or cone flower.

I bought this by mistake, at least for the position in the garden that I had wanted to fill. What I really wanted was an Echinacea Purpurea because of its special colouring. It has a delightful tension between the pale purple petals and the large cone of a contrasting orange-red. It sings! It would fit well with the reddish purple of the berberis and the lavender bushes nearby. However, this rudbeckia is a delightfully ga.y, strong plant so I may move it elsewhere and go and buy the echinacea for that particular spot.

Quite well disguised on this table from a distance and provided it keeps parallel to the grain!

Getting a lttle out of date order again here!

This pretty grass comes into its own at this time of year. The seedheads turn a beautiful bronze shade later on in the autumn.

My lovely, fragile looking rose "Queen Elizabeth" It is described by one supplier as indestructable, and it is.

Mine are all blooming again, although only just a few on each bush. There are more flowers in the garden now than when you came, everything is growing again.

Lovely photos as always, Ivy. Masses of spiders in our garden, too. Our Apple tree has yielded a decent harvest this year. Not so much in volume built in size. The mix of Sun and rain seems to have swollen the fruits.

Paul, despite everything you spared time to have a look at the Patch. Thank you.

But it is a delight to do so, Ivy. Never know what the next beautiful photo is going to be of.

Slugs galore in our patch, Ivy. I never cease to wonder why we don't have more hodgehegs, they'd be really plump! We still have brazen foxes on the estate, although they are staying out of our garden since we covered their access holes with boulders.

Please keep your thread alive. Any more autumnal critters about?
