    MARKETS ALL OVER THE WORLD

Looking at Cecilia’s pics. from Palermo on Harald Jarl thread I wish we had a page to put our photos of markets. This places are often the heart of the cities where one can feel their pulsations by keeping close to their inhabitants in their everyday lives.
Cecilia gave me the idea so I begin with one of the markets of Palermo,il mercato della Vucceria.

Good idea for a new thread. I have posted pictures of markets from all over Asia, but never thought of making a special thread.
My first contribution; Thiong Baru Market, Singapore:

Great idea. It would be interesting to see what happens if you'd be interested in one of the lower stored magazines of that book shop in #3/3!!!

This is an excellent idea and should produce some really colourful image, Yves. I'll start my contribution with a few from the Stuttgarter Markthalle, some are already on that thread but not all.

Night Market In Labuan FT, East Malaysia, locally known as "Pasar Malam":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasar_malam
I have never seen so many stalls for a Pasar Malam in Labuan before, selling everything from cooked food to ornaments, cloths, shoes and a lot of "thingies" of undetermined usage:

An old Wet Market in Georgetown, Penang after most of the stall holders have gone home for the day:

But some are still at work preparing for the next trading day:

Or waiting for their demise the next day:

A brand new Market was just about ready next to this old traditional one, but not opened yet.
