Thank you, Tommi. From 1999 I have been going to Solund from time to time. Ytre Steinsundet is a favourite spot of mine. Sometimes I went with the local express boats. The result was many great pictures. For two occasions I hired a boat. I met a local "captain" who liked what I was doing, so he charged me nothing but the fuel. Many pictures were published in "Hurtigrutekalenderen", a local calendar, which no longer exists. The last time I was there, was 2012 (the first Lofoten picture). Solund is a paradise for canooing. It consists of 1.700 islands! It's hard to get there - a long days drive - but fun to be there!

The last photos you have posted.. I had no idea they were yours. That was really fun to learn. I have seen them so many times, and had some of them saved on my computer 10 years ago or so. This photo of Polarlys I acctually used on the front page of a schoolpaper I did about Hurtigruten in elementary school

Thank you, Carina. Yes, I can imagine that many of the pictures from Hurtigrutekalenderen ended up as pin-ups on various walls and boards during the years it existed. (This means Hurtigrutekalenderen from Rhema Forlag, Bergen, not to be confused with To-Foto's calendar with the same name (I don't know if that one still exists, either...))

Thank you for your nice comments! The picture was taken from a small boat. And an acquaintance of mine captained the somewhat more humble craft:

Without a noise, and with royal dignity, the QM2 entered Flåm harbour, May 14, 2006, at 6 o'clock in the morning and an hour early. But I was up and awake.

                Terrific contrast, Sigve!
And despite what the funnel livery might suggest, Lady C-gull prefers the little serene one ...only 4 weeks to go!

Thank you both, for your comments. Yes, it was a nice afternoon, and HJ left in the dusk. And in those days, in the Velvia age, you had to manage with the ISO you had got, and that was ISO 50. It's easier today, when you can turn up to 1600 and more, if you like. The low ISO is why both picture 1 and 2 in this post are a bit unsharp. But that's how it was in the old age......

Harald Jarl called at Bergen for the last time October 20, 2001, after 41 years of service, and was received with honours, waving and flags. So an open day at Bradbenken. And then good bye, Harald Jarl, come Andrea.
