AHHHH.... thank you so very much, but no thank you. hehehehe

Thijs has enough of these scattered over several threads to terrify Jan-Olav for quite a while, Nari. Great images, though.

I'll find the other threads for you, Jan-Olav, where Thijs has posted his gorgeous photos of the little hairy ones.

Hope nobody have a Phobia for reindeer or lightning. The two don't mix though: http://www.smp.no/nyheter/2016/08/28...g-13250493.ece

More seagull stories elsewhere on CVF, but here is an unusual one: http://www.vgtv.no/#!/video/130268/v...l-aa-sitte-der

Hope it felt better after that!

Yuk. Enough of that - I prefer furry.

Afternoon nap time. (I think they'd just seen a picture of Vigeland Park in Oslo, so tried to recreate it in Meerkat form).

The sentry was useless - kept falling asleep ...

              Cheers,

              Mark.

Probably far more comfortable with soft fur than all the bare skin of Vigeland!!

              Back to seagulls.
At the new fishery pier in Aalesund they put up a "scare crow" in the form of an Owl figure to keep the seagulls from dirty the camera pole.

I have three of those owls, standing as a kind of vanguard near the back door. The magpies don't care, the currawongs stare at them and the peewees just ignore them. And the red wattle birds are far too busy with the camellia flowers to care. We are too far from our lake for seagulls to be bothered pestering us.

another reindeer tradgedy in Norway. This time over 40 reindeer were killed by a train because got on to the tracks across a "ferist" (Animal barrier??) that had been tampered with to allow easy snow clearing in the winter: http://www.rorosnytt.no/reinflokken-...t-ut-av-spill/

Here is the latest statistics I can find:
Few people are hurt but many animals suffer

Railway transport is a secure mode of transport. One person was killed in connection with such accidents in 2008 and three 2009 (Corrected 01.11.2010). Nearly 1 800 animals were hit and killed by a train in 2009, which is about 100 less than in 2007 and 2008, but considerably more compared to 2005 and 2006.
