I noticed what may be the same group of Harbour Seal appearing in Maasmond Newsletter a few days ago.

Thijs, what a wonderful thing to see. Where were you?

Burger's Zoo, Arnhem - during the sun of last Monday. Just a few random photos.

He may be a pygmy hippo, but I suspect you'd know if he stood on your foot.

          A pile of warthogs.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have your own High Visibility jacket? (Actually one of Mrs Glover's photos)

Starring for one night only, Yul Brynner:

          Cheers,

Yeah - but somehow this guy just had 'the look'! Can't you imagine him with a lollipop?

            Entirely,no doubt.
But Yul with a herring, not sure.

The pelicans were quite entertaining - for some reason they reminded me of the 'Monty Python' team.

This one was determined to sit on the log, regardless of how low his chances of success were:

Meanwhile in the Gorilla enclosure, a demonstration on the correct way of hitching a lift with Mamma Gorilla ...

          ... and how not to.

And finally - I worry about my weight, but these two were extremely graceful and delicate even if they were a little on the rotund side.

          Cheers,

          Mark.

These Doves are regular visitors around the house and always in pairs:

A little preening is good after a long day flying around:

Another pair was sitting in a tree a little further away:

I don't know the actual name, but I believe these are called "Turteldue" in Norwegian.

We also have a couple of Humming Birds visiting our plants every day.
Mynahs are regularly entering the house to look for food, so any food or fruit left out has to be covered.
They jump about as if they owned the place, but unfortunately they also leave their "visiting cards".

Mynah is the most common bird in Singapore and there are two types of them: http://habitatnews.nus.edu.sg/pub/na...text/a094b.htm

Wonderful shots from the animal kingdom, Mark!

The world is certainly a wonderful place where a lot of different spices live. It's main-baffling when we open our eyes to the variety on earth.

Nice warm spring day today, so the local furry and feathery folk were feeling tired.

Even the Gruffalos in the Forest of Dean were sleepy.

                    Cheers,

Remember our neighbourhood Monitor Lizard from a couple of years ago?
Here is a smaller one, seen at Yisun lake:

He/she was not alone on the hunt that day:

A school of Golden Carps had congregated at one of the drain inlets:
