    Re: Photo Assignment : Animals

Yep - totally agree with the others. Fantastic birdie and pussy cat pictures. Last one gives whole new meaning to 'bite sized snack'!! Great pictures Paul.
    Cheers,

    Mark.

Thank you Cecilia! I took quite a few of the Leopard that day, notably the fact that a young child like this was only mere inches from one of the most lethal hunters on the planet, just seemed so unreal to witness myself up close. One of these days I'll get my wife to take some of me with this big puddy tat'.

Thank you Mark! As I said in my post to Cecilia it was unreal, but I really couldn't quantify the scene in any more expressive terms than this.
The video I took was even more astonishing. One video was of the Leopard trying to paw the window to get the child, the other was the Leopard trying to to get to a disabled lady's dog that had the big cat up at the window again.
Well... let me show you what I mean Mark.

        Leopard after the young kid.

        Leopard after the dog.

Imagine no glass there, the carnage would have been epic!

i found it.it's a tidal wave, just suprising that they come so quick, and so far from sea.
but saw other video's of those tidalwaves.

Oh boy - I second that!

Those swan pictures of yours are very lovely, Thijs, particularly the first with them strung out in a long line.

Paul, your photos get more outstanding each time I look. Those bird ones, particularly the gannets arguing and #192.3, the gannet coming in to land, as well as the puffin at #192.4 are stunning.
Do you remember talking a while ago about the possibility of some of you having an exhibition in your home town? Don't lose sight of that idea, will you? Your photos are so deserving of a wide public.

                    The snail specialist at work.
Was that at the Delta Works, Thijs? It is beautifully marked and you have the shell so sharply in focus.

no this was at the QM eve.
on the delta day we hadn't time to sit for focusing the snail, and she came out of the QM folder anyway.

but they move very fast,so focusing wil be hard.
we never seen them here (holland),so it's nice to see them here. (at CV)

I can vouch for that. We sometime have visits from Humming Birds, even two or three at a time.
I have tried to take pictures of them several times, but never managed to get anything usable while they are hovering.
The nearest I have come is these two pictures, both with the wings folded:
