    Re: Photo Assignment : Animals

Two Dutch birds we came across on our holidays earlier last week (no jokes).

Firstly one duck - not hundreds like in Pakarang's great photos - but this one was at least showing off!

And then at the absolute end of the glamour scale (no showy green colours), what about this chap - sitting under the bike stands in the centre of Dordrecht. He looked really fed up - it was raining, but he's supposed to like water. Mind you when you are 85% shoulders, it must be quite hard not to stand like you're hunched up and miserable.

    Cheers,

    Mark.

Joe - thanks - yes, plenty of photos of windmills and boats to come!

Thijs - a few days away from the madness of work - needed a break. I knew that we were quite near to you - looked out for a big truck with a Captain's Voyage logo on it. We stayed at Zwijndrecht for a couple of nights (so only one full day), and then travelled down to Luxembourg for a few days.
          Cheers,

Absolutely delightful post #639 Mark.…and I loved the descriptive captions as much as the super photos!
I’m sure the wooden seagull can emulate that “show-off” pose…but better hadn’t try “fed-up-shoulders”…I’ve already had to be discouraged from screaming recently…

I do love that heron, Mark it's priceless! And fancy being in town like that. What drew it in, I wonder, was there water nearby? or a fish stall, perhaps.

I honestly don't know Ivy. He was just opposite the town hall - perhaps he was looking for a career in politics?

Lemmings are fascinating animals. Quite cute when they are one by one. But a plague when there are thousens of them crawling around your legs.

Thanks for those fascinating photos Martin …and now at last, when someone says “lemmings” I’ll be able to visualise something other than that classic video game!!!!!!!!!!

What classic video game??? I've only ever associated lemmings with cliffs (viz. old saying), so it's nice to see the little creatures static on the ground, anyway. Charming photos, Martin.
