These are stupendous sunrises and settings. It is of little use trying to find favourites because each one is beautiful, whether subtly shaded or leaping off the screen with colour. Singapore skies have a good rival!

Imagine if sunsets such as this one on July 28th 2015 could be the norm, sadly they are not:

Wow. Thank you for sharing these. They look wonderful.

We have had an amazing few days in Aalesund, with temperatures in the 12-15C-range. It ended last night with a spectacular sunset, but a drop in temperature to below 0C most places over night. I did not get any pictures, but here is a collection from smp.no: http://www.smp.no/nyheter/2017/01/27...ick_articles=1

The sunrise this morning was also quite spectacular, although not as spectacular as last night's sunset. I managed to get a couple of pictures though:

Tomorrow the sun will turn and the nights get darker by the day, but here is a view of Sula at 00:20 hrs. this morning (20. June, 2017):

We may not have the Midnight sun, but not bad for a cloudy night?

Is there any way we can halt that "sun turning" thing?

I think it's way too early to start heading for darker nights.... I really like it the way it is now, I feel more at live, and have a lot more energy, especially in the mornings.

Looking out on the weather today, I almost felt we had arrived mid-autumn already.

I would also halt the "sun turning" thing a bit longer, totally agree.

Anyone who know me, know what I feel about sunset photography. Sometimes it can be too much, and sometimes one or two images can really stand out.

Anyway, yesterday evening my daughter, who also loves photography, asked me if we could make that 40 minutes drive out to Farstadsand beach to take pictures in the great evening light.
Since I like to watch cumulus clouds in sunset on the horizon of a ocean, I said ok, let's go. Glad I brought my Pentax and tripod

The first one is from a pit stop at the Atlantic Road, the rest are talking for themselves and they are from the Farstadsanden beach (Note to self: Thank God for Flickr!)

We had to look out for the tide, as we operated on a sandbank. My daughter in red jacket over there in the distance

Tried a ND8 grey filter, large f-number and slow shutter speed to blur the waves. I let you deside if it went ok.

At 11:15 PM it was only 4 minutes until sunset

And at 11:19 PM she was gone. I just love those clouds.

Very beautiful images from a very beautiful beach.

I have only been there once in my life, a warm and sunny day a few years ago. Great place and great memories. This is a totally different setting from what I remember. So glad you made the trip and that the results came out so nicely.

PS: Love your new "logo" on your images. You are such an inspiration and I think I might need to update my "logo" a bit as well.

Yes, you might visit Farstadsand during the four seasons and in different weather/light conditions.
As for my logo, I purchased my design signature/logo for about NOK 350,- pluss a program to make it easy to use for the same ammount of money from PhotoLogo. This is not my personal signature, but a signature designed by a logo designer at PhotoLogo :-)

The sun hasn't set on CVF yet and with the effort of Mark and J-O it may Never happen.
But in Aalesund the sun set at 1032 today:

It's still setting in the NW, but moving slowly west by the day (or night, rather)
