Do you have a similar saying to ours:
Red sky at night, shepherds' delight
Red sky in the morning, shepherds' warning.

Not perhaps in Singapore as I doubt there is room for any sheep, let alone such an anachronism as a shepherd!

The sunrise this morning was purple:

Don't know what that signifies to the shepherds??

The first day of 2016 opened gray and cool in Aalesund:

Now Master Frost is expected to take the scene.

You have had much the same as in my neck of the woods. I think there was an early frost this morning and, slight though it was, it must have come as a shock to the few flowers still struggling on.

Well, in Australia we have bushfires in three states and a series of 3-4 days with temperatures over 35C on the tablelands (where I live) while the north is drenched with monsoon rain. The road toll is higher for 2015 for some reason, but it is all nothing much compared to what the UK and southern USA is experiencing. So we are relatively lucky. Plus no deaths in the Sydney-Hobart yacht race despite atrocious weather a day or two out.

It is impossible to imagine what the folk in the north of England are experiencing - it is unprecedented with flood after flood after flood. Shop businesses ruined, house contents destroyed, the clearing-up operations for one flood just mocked by the following one a few days later. One thing that they will perhaps now re-consider is the building of so many houses on what used to be flood plains and meadows for the rivers. But, of course, that does not apply to the cities which have suffered as never before in living memory.

riding the highway i came over a bridge, sunrise ,a fog over the ground, and trucks wich looks loike little blocks in the mist.
but by the time i got my camera ready, the best was gone, looking from above

oops, taking pics while driving issn't the ideal situation

#956.1 Well, I can understand what you were thinking when you said the best had gone, (the "little blocks" are there in #956.2, right in the distance) but yet in your photo the vehicles at the left, their shapes defined by the sunlight, have a clarity which contrasts well with the mist on the field. And what a beautiful light on that misty ground in both images. I love the silhouette effect in the last photo, again with a very subtle light. You know, in #957.1 If you'd taken the photo just a few seconds along the road then that trail would have looked as if it were a dart coming straight out of the sun!

Yeees, i was wondering if a possible #956/3 would have been taken still from the road or already from the field...
Not easy to drive and take pictures at the same time.

hahahahaha.if it was from the field,i would never ever show those images,
even better ,i would have delete right away.(if i was still approachable)

the problem is,i bought me a new mobile Phone, and the etui is flipping open on the side, the old Phone with etui was open from the bottomside.
so its not that easy dooing it now while driving, more or less, without hands on the wheel now,but steering with my knees.
luckely the merc has a kneesteering software.
