Wow! The lighting is almost unreal. Where was the photo taken? I have seen that light off the west coast of the southern US and Central America many times.

I'm not sure, but it does look like Bodø harbor.

No matter what, a stunning capture of the light!

This was as the sun was saying it's goodbye's over the Trent Valley at Sussworth in Lincolnshire, we had a great day out touring the countryside and with the little light that was left I made this our last stop before home 6 miles (9km) away.

I love this last one: very nice feel to the whole scene. I can imagine myself sitting at the edge of the water, eating some BBQ and having something cold to drink.

What contrasts in the pictures of Ombugge, Paul and Kiki. They seem to make a set. Ombugge's at #293 is full of suspense, as if a thin veil is waiting to be drawn back to reveal the waiting daylight, then at the other end of the day Paul's #294 shows an almost nostalgic clarity in its gentle beauty. Kiki's contrasting bands of colour are intriguing in their subtle differences. And her last one seems to come full circle, echoing Ombugge's even though it is the other end of the day.
                  Great pics.

                      Sunset in Fak Fak

There isn't enough pollution in the air to get the spectacular sunrises/sunsets you see in more industrialized parts of the world.

I have noticed that as well. Here in the US I see many, spectacular red sunsets and sunrises. When in Costa Rica the sunrise and sets are beautiful but lack the bright red and oranges of the polluted world.

Strange thing is that in Greenland it was so clear and the atmosphere so clean that estimating distances was really difficult – everything looked nearer than it actually was….and yet there were some spectacular sunsets.

Could it be ice crystals in the atmosphere??

Clean air, long distances…..probably the often yellowish sky colour was due to the considerable length of the atmospheric path along which scattering of shorter wavelengths occurs by air molecules.

There was also a tendency for banks of lower level cloud in the direction of the evening sun to reflect and further enhance the dramatic colours.

It was a nice warm end to the day by the River Trent, very few people about and just managed to take a few photos at the right time. Sometimes patience does have it's benefits!

This was one that kind of drew you into it, another warm day and signing off with nice sunset!
