  • Photo Assignement: The Moon

Continuing this thread from the old forum: http://captainsvoyage.7.forumer.com/...pic.php?t=2495

I bought myself a 2x AF tele converter this weekend, and with my 70-300mm lens the zoom is impressive...

That is a great image... love that you can see the meteor craters so well on the right side of the moon. They look very clear and are a powerful reminder of the tremendous forces floating around in space and occasionally bumping into eachother.

Thank you. I have found out that the craters only show when the moon is decreasing. It is quite facinating to watch...

Here are some "moonlight serenade" images of mine, the first one taken on December 5th this year and the second taken 6 days later, at December 11th:

Great pictures! Especially the last one. It's something magic about the moon...

So true... I totally agree with you. I have so many more, I will share them as time goes along during Christmas.

Here is another image taken one night before the full moon came at it's closest the past 15 years, on December 11th 2008, showing Rorvik and the sound called Naeroeysundet:

In the next image you may not see the full moon, but it is with no doubt taken on a full moon night while the air was very cold and crisp: the Naeroeysund Bridge on December 11th 2008:

Is that "Tryvannstårnet''? I was convinced a few days ago that it had been torn down, but I guess I was wrong....

I noticed that the moon was quite full tonight, so maybe we can add some new moonlight photographs these coming days.
