    Photo Assignment: Autumn is here....

So far, I don't think we have a special autumn-images thread.... so, I therefore start this thread.

I am just imagining a certain sweet small boy with little boots on who is loving jumping around in the puddles and causing a splash . . .
(Got my own memories of those delights too!)

Perhaps growing up is learning to love the reflections? …well, at least taking a masterpiece of a photo first before jumping in the water . . .

I understand E and her 'comment'....., as I've just picked up my chin from my chest here myself....

Surprised that the third image was so well received.. I was about to toss it in the "bin".

Well, perception varies from person to person so I thank you for your comments - all of you.

I would have thought that most people with a camera and finding themselves in the lovely surroundings of photo 2, or seeing trees with autumn colours as in photo 1, would have taken fairly similar photos. But photo 3 is the kind of motif that Sterkoder has mentioned in other threads recently – one that it takes an artists eye to recognise as a subject for the camera, and then make it look as good as this.
I’ve kept coming back to this thread to look at this image.

Hope we haven’t lost many pakarang masterpieces to that bin

Yeap--y'all know me...the "!!!!!" were for the rain puddle.

I'm with Seagull...I have a feeling a certain photographer might have jumped into a few of those as a child?

(Actually, I secretly hope he jumps in them as an adult, too... I have a pair of--imagine this, gang-- PINK Welly Boots.....and I LOVE to jump in a puddle every chance I get!!! )

I bet he does E, but only after photographing the reflections and putting his camera safely out of splashes reach!!!
Those past-tense-sounding “memories” I mentioned were just referring to Tiny Wellington Boots times, I naturally still puddle splash, but not having grown up at all and so not being as sensible as you with your pink wellies, I’m apt to do it in less appropriate footwear!

Oh and in dry weather it’s almost as much fun crunching through piles of crisp autumn leaves….

Please create a link so all of us can look through your "bin" before you delete them entirely...

The "not good enough"'s of YOUR bin are worthy photos for most of the rest of the world, Captain.......

Snow. For some reason, if I am ever around a pile of snow,( like when we lived in Germany or "up North")... I have to plop down into it...or make a snow angel.

I think it comes from growing up in an area where "snow" means an accumulation of less than 2 cm.....

But give me a walk in the rain anyday...I learned LONG ago that I won't melt...I am not a witch (contrary to what some family members might think), nor am I sweet as sugar.......
