  • May / June 2015: Captains Voyage Forum Occasional Photo Competition

Having won last month's competition, it's Ivy's turn to set this month's theme.

There were such lovely results from the poem I quoted before, the "What is this life if full of care....." one. So what about this for the next try? A quote from Keats:

"A thing of beauty is a joy for ever."

"Thing" can be whatever you like except a human! What could be your joy for ever?

And if all those who voted in this last competition put in their 3 photos each there would be a really good collection.

Usual rules - up to three entires per contributor. Look forward to see what you come up with.

Propose that we close to entries on Sunday 28th June.
    Cheers,

    Mark.

Oh heck. I have only just seen that I seemed to have asked for 3 POEMS!!!! No, no, no, I meant 3 PHOTOS. Mark, Could you extend the deadline for everyone? I couldn't understand why no-one had entered.

Thou canst not then be false to any man."

Oops - shows how well I read that! Three photos (not poems), and deadline of 28th June, not 14th!
      Cheers,

      Mark.

As I said, Mark, you are fully entitled to assume that people (even idiots) say what they mean.

I seem to have been focusing on illustrating lines from Keat's poem rather than anything photographically or imaginatively inspired …this is what happens having had to learn these things by heart as a child!

Hmmm - this is difficult, but I'll have a go.

JUN-004: Timeless Bath Abbey, beautiful for centuries past and centuries to come

            JUN-005: Perfection in nature

JUN-006: The White Cliffs, peaceful, symbolic, proud, beautiful - always changing, and yet always the same

            Cheers,

            Mark.
