  • April 2015: CVF Monthly Photo Competition Voting Open

Well done to everyone for the photos in the 'Arcs and Circles' thread.

All the pictures are here: http://www.captainsvoyage-forum.com/...to-competition

Usual form re voting, so ...

PLEASE NOTE EVERYONE WITH A LOGIN CAN VOTE! YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE SUBMITTED A PHOTO TO BE ABLE TO VOTE!!

I've set this up so that you can vote multiple times - with plenty of entries, I propose that we have up to five votes each to try to reduce the chance of a draw. Remember though - those votes have to be made during one visit - you can't come back and vote again!

Voting set to finish at the end of Saturday 16th May. I propose a Norwegian public holiday on the 17th to celebrate the announcement of the winner. Updated - a couple more voting days added (end of Wednesday May 20th).

Ignore the 'vote count' - we know that this software can't count!

A shameless bounce - new topics don't appear quite as visibly on the 'latest activity' page as we may like!
    Cheers,

We need a few more votes than this (six people have voted so far)!! I'll extend the window for voting by a few days.
      Cheers,

Come on, our Polo. Everyone is on holiday or still recovering from Norway's Day!
And, anyway, why don't all you non-competiters vote? EVEN BETTER, why don't you join in the competition, it's fun. Miserable lot.

PS. I didn't look before I posted! Wow, four more have voted. Next time you join in, eh?

Come on someone - we need at least one more vote to break the thrilling deadlock in this month's competition!! Who dares vote for either Ivy or Yves? Voting set to finish at the end of tomorrow, Wednesday 20th.
          Cheers,

          Mark.

Well there we go then - many thanks to all of you that voted. Thanks also to everyone for their photos - you're a clever and imaginative lot!

Well done to Ivy for winning by the tightest of margins - and to Yves for just being 'pipped at the post'. (Daft English expression).

Over to you Ivy to suggest the next competition title when you're ready.
            Cheers,

            Mark.

Thank you very much, Mark and Ombugge. That was a surprise, certainly. I'm thinking hard now for the next subject.

I'm not sure where to put this, but Mark will probably lift it over to the new Comp. thread.
There were such lovely results from the poem I quoted before, the "What is this life if full of care....." one. So what about this for the next try? A quote from Keats: "A thing of beauty is a joy for ever." "Thing" can be whatever you like except a human! What could be your joy for ever?
And if all those who voted in this last competition put in their 3 poems each there would be a really good collection.
