  • February 2015: CVF Monthly Photo Competition Voting Open

Posting finished for the February competition, and that thread is now closed.

There were so many (brilliant) photos this month that I haven't reposted them all in this thread!! Sorry - you'll need to have a look at the photos here ... http://www.captainsvoyage-forum.com/...to-competition choose your favourites and then come back to vote.

PLEASE NOTE EVERYONE WITH A LOGIN CAN VOTE! YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE SUBMITTED A PHOTO TO BE ABLE TO VOTE!!

I've set this up so that you can vote multiple times - with so many entries, I propose that we have up to five votes each to try to reduce the chance of a draw!

Voting set to close at the end of 28th February.

Just to make sure this time, Mark, we can visit more than once to vote, not have to do it all in one go?

I believe - and am quite happy to be proved wrong - that you only get one go at voting. So up to five votes in one visit. You can revisit the thread as often as you like to watch the 'scores on the doors', but if you try to vote on more than one visit I believe 'computer says no'.
      Cheers,

      Mark.

Just a 'bump'. A week of voting to go, six people have voted so far.
        Cheers,

Another bump. Theoretically voting finishes at the weekend - and at the moment we have a 'dead heat'. I think that fewer people have voted than have posted photos in the competition - so - who's forgotten to vote?

Well there we go - poll expired - eleven votes and Ombugge has won with 'Everything is Curved'! Congratulations Ombugge!!

Can I also congratulate Sterkoder for such an inspiring topic - that was very clever indeed, and probably led to the record entry.

So there does seem to be an appetite for these competitions - even if we're all better at posting entries than we are at voting.

Ombugge - over to you to set the next one. I'd suggest that there's no rush - we'll set times to suit when you've chosen a topic.
            Cheers,

            Mark.

Congratulations, Ombugge. Don't be too long choosing our next theme, will you?

And I'm sitting here wondering why I was not able to wote. Another bug, or something wrong with my PC??.
That said, congratulations to 'ombugge' :-

I'm baffled!!! I'm a non-photographer, only a point-n-shoot guy, with little though to composing an image.

Even so I throw in some pictures for the Photo Competition, whenever there is one.
Given the theme of last month I looked for anything with curves, or lines or both, in my recent collection of pictures and came up with three, which I posted without much thought of winning.

Now I have a problem; what am I going to propose as the theme for this month's competition???

Since it is spring on the northern hemisphere, the time of renewal and change, I propose simply: SPRING

Apologies Ombugge - I'd missed your suggestion for the next competition.

I'll set it up in the next few days.
                            Cheers,
