  • September 2014: Captains Voyage Forum Occasional Photo Competition

OK then - seems to be enough interest.

Let's set this one and see how many responses we get.

I propose that the 'lucky' winner each month gets to choose the subject of the next competition, but of course we need to set the first one.

    So how about:

    'My home'

That may be something about your house, caravan, boat, ship, Mercedes truck, village, town, country - I guess if there are any astronauts amongst us - even the World! It may be something about your loved ones, your pets, anything that the words conjure up. As mentioned in 'Chit-Chat', it doesn't have to be a new or current photo - it may be one from your collection, or even one you've posted on CVF before - only rule is that you need to have taken it!

Same rules as ever - anyone welcome to post anything - up to 3 entries per person (I think we used to say) - and then give us a title for each photo.

Final submission by September 30th, then we have a week to vote, then if there's been enough interest we set the next one.

That should also give me long enough to work out how to post a poll in a thread! That seems to be another 'feature' of vBulletin.
    Cheers,

    Mark.

Where have all the previous comps. gone? I wanted to look back to see how we posted them but all I get is "Topic not found".
So, do we post them on this thread, sir? Oh 'eck!

Yep - there was a thread for each month's competition. Unfortunately they seem to have disappeared when the new system was brought in - probably because they had the polls attached to them.

So - add the photos to this thread, and we'll all add ours too.

Well, this IS going well. So many photos to choose from!! Not that I can talk - I can't work out which of the thousands of photos on my hard disk even comes close to meeting the subject. What twit dreamt this one up?
    Cheers,

SEP-006 - My home, the Cotswolds

For clarity, I don't live in one of these - mine has double glazing, central heating and a garage - BUT the rolling hills, the yellow stone, the pegged-stone roofs, the wisteria and ivy (not that sort) crawling up the walls, the shallow rivers, the packhorse bridges, the peace and tranquillity - that sums up my little bit of the world.
                      Cheers,
