What is the one piece of equipment I did not take to Costa Rica that I could have used quite often.... my flash. Under the jungle canopy I could have gone through a set of batteries each day. I will not make that mistake again (hopefully).

I have often cursed the pop-up flash on my 50D as useless but I must say I was able to get by with it and am very glad that it was there.

Totally agree with you Dane... there are so many times I wish I had brought the flash along. The flash is an incredibly useful tool sometimes.

The flash of the 50D has sometimes however been quite useful, it's far more powerful than I have ever imagined.
