    Quadcopter

There appears to be a lot of these flying around these days and some spectacular pictures/videos taken from them are available on Youtube.

    Here is an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?vxvmOEmbyco

Apparently it is not all for the good: http://www.thelocal.no/20131101/dron...h-peeping-toms

It was reported that a fire fighting helicopter could not land during the big fire at Laerdalsoyri due to quadcopters flying around.

Fascinating to watch the demonstration, but with frightening possibilities.

Link to some great Quadcopter photos from Thailand:-
        The railway station in Bankok:

There’s also a “then and now” featuring the station:

Elsewhere, many TV and press photographers have been using these devices to obtain rather amazing views looking down on the protester-filled streets during the current political protests.

Quads are not really drones, but it seems like they have become known as just that by now:

If you wear a whole lot braver than me, and could fly your "drone" through fireworks... this is the footage you possibly could get.

Don't forget to go full HD off course.

Here is a beautiful compilation of QUAD shots from vimeo.com.... recommended!

"A small collection of aerial footage from various projects. All shots were created using the DJi Phantom 2 with Zenmuse h3-3d gimbal and a GoPro Hero 3+."

When I was in Portland, Oregon earlier this year relaxing in the park on the waterfront. A father and daughter came along and opened up his big case and pulled out a quadcopter. Daughter was wandering around playing and got scolded several times and was told to sit down and be good. Dad flew the copter around for a while. Back and forth, out over the water. Everything was going very well except that daughter looked very bored sitting there being good. Then dad tried showing off and land the copter on his hand. It caught the edge of his hand and plowed into the ground with pieces flying. Dad's arms were flapping in the air as he cursed. Daughter got up and starting dancing around... obviously happy that they could go and do something fun.

These things can come in handy when you want and need to inspect unstable and difficult to reach areas.
Here from Oerneveien in Geiranger, where a landslide caused the road to be partly closed recently: http://www.smp.no/video/article10989894.ece#cxrecs_s
How else to inspect this, except from a full grown helicopter at high expense?
