Miki Asai's portfolio of pastel hued photos didn't instantly grab me - I admit to some rapid scrolling, only brought to a halt with that tree and skyscape . But, before I later returned and looked at the Japan set, those water droplet images did 'grow' on me gradually, a world contained within another, like the fascination of a snow-globe, something captured and possessed.

Justin Plunkett's world of the architecturally surreal amidst (or arising from) edgy urban settings and abandoned places instantly appealed to me. (I've come across his work before pakarang - maybe it was even through a link you gave elsewhere.)
The image of the church/cathedral was my least favourite, perhaps because it lacks surrounding context. But I felt there was another image within it that did draw me in - those disturbing hook and horn-like twisted spires and the birds against the sky.

My comment of some weeks ago seems to have got lost in cyberspace, but you already know I saw and continue to follow your updates … anyway, just checking in here.

I have just read through your blog and found it not only interesting but intriguing with the personal touch you added with photos of yourself.
As is often said in Oz, with feeling, a bloody good read. (Hope this widely used Oz word does not offend?)

Not actually a blog, but a good community with quite a lot of tutorials - some free, others available if becoming a paying member.

I would very much like to recommend you visiting the website of a Polish man by the name Leszek Pokrywka, which has moved to Rørvik, in Nord Trøndelag county of Norway, many years ago.

Please check out his LANDSCAPE albums and you will find some truly beautiful images from Rørvik.

Professional photographer Onne van der Wal is explaining how he works when photographing sailing, but also shipping like heavy lift ships and shots from Antarctica. There's also some good information about photographing tips like histograms/exposure/cropping/catching the correct light.
