January 2010 - CaptainsVoyage Monthly Digital Photo Competition Winner

First of all, I would like to extend a most sincere thank you to all the 37 members who took time to cast their vote in the January Digital Photo Competition. It was very exiting for all members to see the close race and that so many members took time to review all the wonderful entries.

Despite the fact that the race was really close for a very long time, two winners were eventually found.

JAN-005: Khun Duen in the dark by Haakon:

    and...

JAN-021: Darkness at sea by pakarang:

Entries number 5 and 21 both received a total of 13 votes, or 35,14% of the total votes.

A close runner up was entry number 25, Snowy Road, by Seagull.

I thought that portrait was absolutely outstanding, Haakon.
And a beautiful seascape/skyscape from you, pakarang, as I have come to expect of you .

With such high standards as those, what I did not expect was that I would be a close runner up with something I just took while waiting and hoping for a nice sunrise for a 365 photo (which didn't happen anyway!).

My delighted congratulations to Haakon and pakarang.

Just have to ask, what happened to February's winner? The results do not seem to have made it to this thread yet?
Your charts, your radar, your eyes and ears - if all 4 agree, you may proceed with caution.

Oh, my oh my... so many things to do... so little time.

I'll add it to my to-do list... but now, back to driving the ferry!

Pakarang, Haakon Those photogrphs are completly different theme. They are both very good. I love how the Sky looks in contrast with the sea.The Darkness soon will be total, he capture that moment. Khun Duen by Haakon is an Artistic Photograph it impress that is so realistic, that is like you can touch the person. And in the black backround Khun Duen resalts. They are very, very Wonderfull Congratulations to both Thank you Gisela
