  • Interesting Interweb Finds

I had a thought, as I'm always hunting around the interweb for interesting and sometimes unusual stuff you can find. I thought all the things I come across to let you guys benefit from what I find.

Here is something I found, now I'm not sure how it works yet. But it maybe a good one, it's supposedly for tracking maritime vessels.... I'm gonna try it out later.

I found another nice thing today. If you want to download [High Quality] YouTube video there is a good way of doing it.
As I found you do it like this with Windows & Firefox:

    1. Making sure you have Downloadhelper addon with Firefox.
    2. Go to http://nothingbutpc.com/?p=34
    3. Scroll down to where is says in Blue (Download MP4 Youtube Vids).
    4. Right click, and add to favourites. (I put it as a toolbar button).
    5. Go to YouTube and select you video that you want.
    6. Make sure the video is playing, then click bookmark or toolbar button.
    7. You'll then see on the right hand side (Download MP4 Youtube Vids).
    8. Then just click that and it will ask you if you want to save.

Cool way, once it's set up to quick access of High Quality video.
I know it takes a couple of minutes to set it all up, but once over that it's quick easy every time then.
I'm not sure how it will fare on Macs, I would hope it's the same.

Here's a nice twist to typing.... upside down. I don't know if it's useful for anything, but I aim to send an email to a friend like this.

I found this for when you're trying to recognize a song & artist. It's called Tunatic.
It seems to work pretty well and works on Mac's too.

Ah now for a bit of nostalgia. Put in your birth date and it brings up some facts of that day as it happened. Ooh.. that means that I'm 1,2,3.. 39, 40.. 45? or something.

For those interested in getting home after a Saturday night out. Help is at hand. I seem to remember doing this for real many moons ago.

I found this by my usual meandering around the interweb. A transcript of the Magna Carta. Quite an interesting read overall.

I wasn't sure if this would fit with the Abandoned houses and properties. As it is a full site dedicated to disused airfields, I thought a link might be better as there is a lot of stuff on there.

Now this may come to be useful to someone, at sometime. You never know. It's a FREE site for service manuals of nearly every description.

This I have found is very useful for online photo editing. Or creating your own. One thing though, I do create a copy of what I want to edit before I do anything.
