    Re: about Caen-Normandy

At the outskirts of Caen, a former workers' district will be soon distroyed. Before this a group of plasticians used the frontages to illustrate what was the life of the inhabitants.
    Here are their works.

I don't know who is Chris Reeve....If he was born after 1900, it's not amazing!

Well, Yves, you said this in your introduction. I have no idea what "plasticians" means, and all Google could offer was much talk about Chris Reed, [my mistake in the name here - sorry] who was apparently also known as Plastician (formerly Plasticman), and is a Dubstep, Grime DJ from Thornton Heath in the London Borough of Croydon. I'm afraid that my only response to that was a rather bored "Oh yeh.......I don't need to know that"!
So I'm in the dark about who or what your group of plasticians are. Can you let this ignoramus know?

I'm really sorry Ivy, I thought we have the same word in English and French. What we call 'plasticien' are all the visual artists(painters sculptors video and film makers, photographers). The AERO group works in outside supports-walls, streets, urban areas- inspirated by Pop art,Comics,Poetic-Realism.They run a web site in french www.aero.fr but I am not sure you can get it outside the french network.
Have a nice day (here it's sunny).

                      Re: about Caen-Normandy

Many thanks, Yves. It's a new term to me - though it's quite likely that we have "plasticians" in English, too, as my vocabulary is not updated properly! Google didn't mention it, but then perhaps I didn't go on searching long enough. Either way, I understand now.
And, I think the paintings are superb, what a pity that they must soon be destroyed. I must find time one day to learn more about this sort of thing, because what has puzzled me for a long time is the way there seems to be a common style running through them all, no matter where they are seen and who the creator may be.
Thank you for showing them, Yves.
