    19 places to indulge yourself

National Geographic recently presented a list of 19 truly great places around the world to completely indulge yourself...

Personally, there are quite a few of those places I would love to have spent some time at, and have experienced.

Anyone here that have been to one or more of these 19 places, and can tell us something more about your time there?

Number one on my list of these 19 would be Borbodur, Indonesia. It's been on my list for a very long time already - and I already have a plan to visit this place in 2018.
Transformative experiences are the new trend in luxury travel.

Arghhhh ...the scourge of social media!!!!! ...I hate these "best xx places for xx" and "bucket list" kind of things. Although I grudgingly accept they can occasionally be a useful guide of where NOT to go to avoid the kind of hordes of tourists who like that kind of thing!

However this is perhaps more a "19 places where our Superb National Geographic Photographers took a Great Photo" list, which is of course subtly different ...and you seem to have Borbodur sorted fairly soon so you should be ahead of the pack anyway pakarang

Indeed as it's YOU Captain who shared this, I have taken the time to go through the whole list, and can now inform you that I have a score of six and a half! which is rather high for a 'like returning to places' person like me!

Before you ask, the HALF is my having been to Cambodia, but not yet Vietnam!

Cambodia, specifically Angkor, is a place that I want to return to. It undoubtedly suffers from that must-do bucket list obsession and the blogger bandwagon, but it doesn't have to be that way with some effort and planning - I had one temple all to myself! So you are right, I ought to tell more about my time there. Now on my 'CVF-to-do' , if I can just resist further Serenissima cruises for long enough (although one of those would have recently taken me to the Douro region of Portugal featured on the NG list had I not felt there were too many port tasting opportunities for cabin-mate#2's delicate constitution!

That, plus possibly Jaipur in India and perhaps most of all your chosen Indonesian location are the only other places on this list that attract me.

Jaipur resides pretty high on my list as well.... actually all of India.

Got hooked on India after watching both instalments of the "Best Marigold Hotel"....

Glad you explained that half because in my mind, I was about to ask that one... LOL
