Unfortunately this is a side of Malaysia that is hard for westerners to grasp: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/...ctures-9002146

In "liberated" Europe it may not be a big deal to most people but seen as a stupid joke by some stupid males, but to a Muslim Malay, especially females, it is an offence that can actually be punishable by a jail sentence.

It is a said fact that religious conservatism has also been rising in Malaysia in recent years, chipping away at a one-time reputation for moderation and tolerance, as stated in the article.
At the same time this has caused more se*ual abuse among the rural population
and frustration among the young urban Malays and other races.

How about you, Sir ombugge, are you a fan of this strange fruit?

Personally, I don't think the flying car will be the mainstream of travel for any of us, nor will the hover board be.

Anybody who have been to Malacca (Meleka) would most likely also have been to Portuguese Village for seafood. (My favourite; Garlic Prawns)
Today the old eating places standing on stilts in the water, with the bottom covered in discarded shells, has been replaced with a more modern and hygienic Food court catering mainly to tourist and both the Malacca Portuguese Eurasian colony and their language is in danger of being extinct.
Effort is made to retain some of their distinct culture and their creole language, known as "Kristang" however:
