It must be a strange sensation to look acoss mile upon mile of just sand in every direction ( if you turn your back on the road).

          What an amazing place!

          Those desert shots are beautiful!

The photos in #51 remind me very much of the terrain I got used to in Western Australia, but what a contrast in #52 - the two men at the tables, one in touch with his iPad the other listening to the music from his!
Very tastefully arranged fish (especially the artistic hanging display of crabs!) and fruit/veggies. How lovely to see those great bunches of banana hands, ripely yellow instead of the green ones sold here. I always buy mine when they are just yellow, then enjoy them as they begin to get spotty! Beautiful flavour. But to see so many on the stalls already yellow, there must surely be a great wastage in that climate, I wonder?

WAOW...! This thread was throughly studied last night, and I read every single word written.

This is THE journey I would very much like to make!

Thank you for posting all the market arrangements. Markets look great all over the world and they are similar but on the same time so different.

Returning to this exciting thread where I’d last been admiring architecture, it was quite a contrast shock to discover the desert! Dunes, wadis ...I got distracted into reading about the local geology at that point , but returned to find a marvellous market tour . Especially attracted to those fish with the bright yellow tail and fins!
