Uhmm.... this isn't an easy one for me. Looking for clues, and from what I remember myself, I think we may be in Holland somewhere.

To get a bit closer, I guess .... ehhh.... somewhere near Rotterdam perhaps?

        No not Holland this time

The road signs and the name of the restaurant sound French. Am I wrong?

I don't know how road signs sounds.
In Holland as long you don't hit them, the're soundless.

But you're right, it's in France

Ho, your road signs Don't make music? Sad.

Are we near a border? Belgian or German ?

        belgian border

        what is near?
in a straight line within 50km

You were driving southbound in France on the D977 in Le Chesne and crossing the Canal des Ardennes. What did you do there? Collecting trees like in Germany so often?

That was tricky. A lot of waterways in that area, most bigger. But a crossing right in top of a bridge near a church made this place unique. I had fun with this trial!! Thank you, Thijs. I am thinking about a houseboat holiday in this area since a while...so exploring this was interesting.

        spot on Ralf.
al the hints you gave i wasn't even think about, it was just an image for this puzzle in mind
i liked the scenery about the bridge with the canal and the church behind

it was the second time i've been here, across the bridge to the left
the first time i had to load a Baison et ses envoires,
the second time a few hundred meters in front it was called Le Chesne.
but i was the 4th truck to load there and not enough logs for me, so had to go to Bally

with in the middle the canal crossing

        over to you Ralf
        best regards Thijs

i was also thinking of using one of those images for it, same point but now returning from loading stages

Ralf likes sailing the French channals, so thats one guess.
I believe that i read somewere that they would go to the mediterranean sea.
Northeren France had a lot a yellow brick houses, but those are yellow painted, so i think more at the mediterranean, but further than that it was just a guess, had to start somewere. LOL

No, it is not in France this time. More South is correct, but i would not call it a Mediterranian surrounding, well, some might discuss about that...

Well, Ralf's remark seems to place it in that side of Greece bordering the Aegean Sea, or else Turkey,

Wow, i did not imagine that this is such tricky. No, it is neither Greece, nor Turkey. I don't even think, they have such canals.

Maybe, i should give a hint. The country is connected to the mediterranean, but not the area of the picture.

Could be Spain ? Maybe a canal in spanish pays basque ?

Very interesting, indeed there is a Canal de Castilla existing. I did not know that before. But no, you are wrong.

Well, let's zoom over to the east. Is it one of the countries bordering the Adriatic on its eastern side - Slovenia, Croatia, etc.?

Well it is worth a try... as well as another country, which was not mentioned up to now... should be hard to find canals in Croatia and Slovenia.
Come on, it is more obvious!

Canal, Adriatic??? Venezia!!! (Or Venice in English)

It is not mediterrenean, so not connected to the adriatic coast or Venice. But you are in the right corner now! A good guess! Houses and surrounding are clearly Italian.
