So this is what it feels like to set a challenge that lasts longer than 24 hours!!! I like it!

Have a free clue. It's in the bottom half of Sweden.
      Cheers,

      Mark.

Nah, wouldn't bother Ivy, his special superskills will almost certainly allow Thijs to find the location on his smartphone whilst moving at 90km/h through the European road network, taking photographs of the world passing by at the same time.

I think it is definitely Sea-Troll sized, and I know I have photos of that kind of thing which, as you can imagine, I would be unable to resist taking! But this is my second post reply today where I am needing my photos of southern Sweden which are almost certainly pre-digital, and not kept where I am at the moment.

So am reduced to trying to guess the location from the water - river, canal, lake ...whatever.

Is it somewhere along the Göta Canal?

Somewhere along the shores of lake Vattern?

You two are very close to where we are - but it's not on the shores of Vattern, and it's not on the Göta Canal. I'll probably give too much away by saying that it's awfully, awfully close to the Göta Canal, but I don't believe that it strictly is on it.
          Cheers,

I think I could be a perfect guide for tourists visiting swedish lakes now!!!!
Another try: are we in Göteborg district? Lake Mjörn?

Ooh - hello Yves! I thought everyone had got bored with this one.

Nope. Wrong side of the country.
              Cheers,

Not on the shores of Vattern but what about Vanern ones?

                  Comment

Ombugge - I'm not sure where Sletbaken is - I can't find it on a map.

Yves - no. We're off one of the smaller lakes.

Bit of a clue - we're in or close to one of the 'köping's.
                    Cheers,

                    Mark.

Ah, OK, thanks Ombugge. Left a bit.

Well, let's see about this. Let's review what I've told you already.

                        We're in Sweden.

                        Eastern side.

One of the 'köping' towns. But left/west of Söderköping.

Near one of the smaller lakes.

Very close to, but not on the Göta canal.

Reckon you're best to find the town first, then it should get easier.
                        Cheers,

                        Mark.

It's bad searching on a smarthphone using google maps, also google earth don't using the photos on the map anymore of panorama or whatever the name was. So you can't see a matching image now.
but its not in the gota canal.BUT is it a lake between the canal. In and outlet of the gota canal? Stricktly not the gota canal but a lake.
                          best regards Thijs
