I am quite busy at the moment, but let me tell you that this is a great puzzle and a good restart of this thread.
I was searching for cable cars and helicopters in harbours as well, but did not match anything up to now.
But the combination of these three must be unique! So i hope, some more members are motivated and try their luck!

Nice to hear from you on this thread.
With cable car, Harbour and France, you are near the solution.

Think it's Brest Yves. And I think it's currently broken?

Remarkable tide, not too warm climate, people are walking at the beach, not bathing, European style of buildings...
Somewhere at Southern or Eastern British coast??

Keep going Ralf!! You're thinking along the right lines.
        Cheers,

          Somewhere around Bournemouth??

Right country Ombugge. Actually not that far away over land - rather a lot further by sea.
        Cheers,

Okay, that was a good hint. Weston-Super-Mare (Western Shore)??

Well done Ralf - I gave you too much information.

The tidal range is amazing, and normally when we visit Weston the sea is somewhere else. Our last trip in the late autumn actually coincided with a high tide, as seen in the photo, and the view was taken from the newly rebuilt pier: https://www.grandpier.co.uk/

Weston used to be a little run-down, but recently there has been a lot of investment, and it's getting a lot smarter and more attractive these days.

The point about distance from Bournemouth by sea was just that to get from the south coast to the west coast, you have to go an awfully long way west, and back around the Cornish peninsular.

        Your turn!
        Cheers,

        Mark.

Ralf's latest reminds me of Croatia near Split, but the building peaking out from the trees reminds me of something Italian....

Can't find the right place. Is it in the area of Livourne (Livorno)?

                  Comment

Yes, Livorno is not far away. The place, you are searching, was famous as summer residence of various artists in teh mid of the 19th century. Around 1960 a lot of famous movie actors were seen there, so Marcello Mastroianni and Jean Lous Trintignant.

Don't know if I'm right but Viareggio fits to your description.A lot of artists lived there in the XIXth and it was a great place for the Italian cinema in the 60's.

Viareggio is not a bad guess, but not right anyway. The landscape there is very flat, which is not firring to the picture. You will have to concentrate your search at the area South of Livorno.
