Tough luck, Yves, you were nearly there, and Nari, you should have gone a bit wilder! Yes, Ralf, spot on.
Right, over to Pauline, good to have a new enthusiast for this puzzle game, you never know what else you are about to learn of this world.

      completely right

    As a tip:
We were there not because of the horses, that was just randomly. We were there because of other "sights" (Of course even something really interesting for my dad and my brother )
    And as a second tip:
Even the queen was sometimes there.

Uhhmmmmm.... this is hard for me, to even make a suggestion. Which Queen came there..... ?

          Was it in June 2015?
If so I'd say Frankfurt am Main but it's just a try.

I'm sorry, but no... It was much earlier.

The previous official voyage in Germany was in 2004.
              Maybe Berlin or Dresden?

              Comment

It was even earlier than 2004. It was 1965.
And it's much smaller than Berlin or Dresden.

no Greek Island and no Aida vessel

That ferry sitting with her bow buried in the town may be a clue. Fairly caricaturist funnels.

don't know if it may be a clue, stolen the image somewhere.
but seen images with bow or stern to the quay

We are on Corsica, at the port of Bastia.
The big vessel facing the quai is the SNCM ferry Napoleon Bonaparte serving the Marseille-Bastia route.
The other vessel should be the Kalliste of the Meridonale Line serving also Marseille-Bastia.
                  Could be an older picture...
