Yves! Substitute "is" for "may be".
I really thought that would last a little longer. Congrats and over to you.

What a lucky coincidence, Yves. It is not as if Uzbekistan is headline news at the moment.

I wonder how far "far away" is?
            Are we elsewhere in Europe?

              So not in Europe.

Taiwan, China or Russia.... sounds like a wild guess, but I'm holding an extra thumb on China (which is not narrowing it down in any instance).

I like the way you ask to narrow it down a bit. "Taiwan, China or Russia" cover about a quarter of the world's land mass.

You are on the way J-O.Russia is correct.

Black Sea coast of Russia? Crimea maybe??

                  Comment

Correction. I notice that you said not Europe. The Black Sea coast is in the European part of the Russian Federation, as is the Russian part of the Caspian Sea coast.

That put us in the Asian part, but this has to be somewhere other than the tundra of the north coast of Siberia, so that narrow it down even more.

That doesn't leave much coastline to consider, except in the Far East Republic, since the Kola Peninsula and the area around the White Sea is also in Europe.

It appears to be a somewhat arid type of vegetation. (Or is it an Autumn picture?)

It is difficult to think of this as the coast of the Far East Republic, which is far from arid in the southern part, Primorsky Peninsula, Sakhalin or the Kuril Islands.
The Kamchatka Peninsula is more rugged then this and more Arctic in nature.

I don't have an answer to this one yet.

Is it somewhere near Novaya Zemlya in summer?

Nah, can that dopey idea. It is Hot Springs Cove in the Aleutians - northern or southern? no idea. I found it just now in my collection of Geology of Islands..

You are right when you think about the Asian part of Russia.
But not Aleoutians, Zemblia, Sakhalin etc...
                      Siberia is the place...but where?

No need for sea! This is Lake Baikal in Siberia. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/507710557967322629/. The world's deepest lake.

I expected this one wouldn't be easy to solve but you are so perspicacious.....(perspicace in French;maybe the English word is keen)
