I had prepared a second picture in case another clue was needed, which it is not, but I post it here anyhow:

So, it is back to you again Yves.

That was certainly very quick! Thank you for the Wiki link, Yves.

Even I knew that one, almost immediately.... but too late to be the first one...

                Won again Ombugge.
Saint Martin it is.Not the nicest island of this area (a lot of flights of capital and tax evasion...) but a strange history.

OK, let us see if this goes as quick as the last two.

Where in the world do you find this mountain pass??:

This one has lasted over 7 hrs. already. New record for the month of December. (This year at least)

No, it is not in South America.

I favour Nepal. Cho La Pass any good?

Cho La pass is VERY good.
At least this took a few hours.
                      Over to you again Ivy..

Oh WOW!!! Even before you had replied to Yves' suggestion I just plumped for Nepal because I had a hunch that this was one of your son's photos and so far there has been no hint from you that he has been to South America. So I Googled Nepal mountain passes and found this one: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/C...ho_la_pass.jpg
To be honest, I didn't hold out much hope of it being correct but the mountain looked as if it just might be the central one in your image.

You are wrong. Not about Chola Pass, but our oldest son spent three months in South America a couple of years ago, trekking in the mountains both in Peru and Bolivia. I have used some of his picture from there on this thread as well.
But very well spotted, since one Himalayan mountain looks much like the next, or so has been said.

Chola Pass is on the trek from Lukla Airport to Everest Base Camp, which is where he was heading when taking this picture,
For those who, like me, would find this trek too strenuousness, here is a link to a virtual trek on Google Earth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1-vTt_eI-w

Or, if you prefer to follow someone on the trek: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESMMsCKJPk0

                          Chola Pass has miraculously reappeared.

                        I seem to have missed out on the S.A. trip,don't I ?!

Well, where is this one, then? Photo by David Stanley

Looks very Arabic and very flat, with no tall downtown buildings in sight.
                          First glans guess; N'Djamena, Chad??
