Darn, is it just me, or have these puzzles become way harder than before?

No, but maybe the patience to search for hours on end??

    Somewhere in the Baltics??

    Comment

Yes, this is literally a quite random photograph that I took of a church that probably is not at all well known - so yes - this can be a bit of a puzzle.
No, it's not in the Baltics.

Are we in Sweden itself then?
        Cheers,

          No!

          To give you some leads:
          - this city is probably not known for anything special at all
          - it's located not too far from a place with a lot of power and governance
          - CVF'rs have probably been quite near it in several occasions, but probably never visited the town itself, but you never know
          - if my phone camera had captured more of the typical neighbourhood - then it would be easier to locate the correct area of the world

OK, I changed my mind. I think we in Denmark, not too far from Copenhagen. So most likely on Sjelland?

I've been trying Denmark. I'm interested in the barrel roofs of the buildings at the right edge of the photo, but Google Images didn't help there as to architect/particular style in an area, etc. Also the particular style of the cross gave no clue. And I can't make out the building to the left. Summary: I'm not doing very well!

At first sight I thought we were in North or West France.
            Is it somewhere in Luxembourg?

You're clearly getting closer, it's definitely the correct area of Europe.

You may have to be a little more specific Tommi!!

I don't think it's in the Grand Duchy (probably I'll be proved wrong now), but I guess that you're pointing us to the area where France and Germany meet? Perhaps Alsace?
            Cheers,

Good guess - but it's located in the other country, Germany!

I searched around Bade Wurtemberg without success. Is it the good land?

            Comment

I think that is a good guess. All is looking very familiar to me, but i can't remember the place. It must be a really quite small village. We have hundreds of similar looking churches nearby. The building left of the church seems to be related to it. Is it some kind of school or cenference centre? Are we in the surrounding of Stuttgart? How many "CVRs", have been near there in several occasions?

I'm very amazed, yes we are in Achern, a small town in south west of Germany and the church is "unserer lieben frau", a catolic church located in the town centre. Capture with a mobile phine on a VERY warm (+30 centigrades) september evening.
I believed that we needed a lot of clues and leads but you sorted it out quicker than ever.
                  Over to you Yves!

Maybe you could reveal how many hours you spent searching before solving this one?

Maybe that will convince our Skipper that he is not "stupid", but maybe too impatiens to spend that kind of time to solve puzzles??

We have a French proverb:Quand on aime on ne compte pas (when you love you don't count the cost).
At the end I typed "catholic churches B-W" and an old postcard appeared on the second page.It looked like (more or less...) Tommi's picture.

                    Thank you Ivy.

Great work! That would have taken a while for me, since i was searching in the wrong surroundings, I was not supposing this to be near Baden Baden.
