Right. Someone tell me all they know about this engine or its type, so that I start on the same level playing field as all you train buffs.

    Is it Canadian?

It obviously doesn't travel far, so we are probably at a Rail Museum somewhere, but where??
The vegetation looks temperate and it got a snow plow. Somewhere in the Czech Republic???
PS> What are those chains and hooks in front of the Plow for, Lifting it when there is no snow??

Think the windows are the clue.

I think this may be a Canadian National Railway loco. but I don't yet know which one or where.

Later: might be SD 701, ES44 DC or C44-9W class. Not necessarily CNR.

Huh, are the comments flying in, as soon there is a railway puzzle. Of course you are right, Mark. It took me nearly an hour to find the place after seeing the TV report, although i knew the area.
I was surprised and hoped, that it would be turn out so hidden for you also. Nice hotel, eh? So, over to you.

...and the loco has her own page, where you can see more:

Nothing to do with railway knowledge! I saw the double glazed windows and googled 'locomotive accomodation'!!

I'll leave railway knowledge to Ivy. She's rapidly becoming a serious trainspotter by the looks of it.

Will try to find a new puzzle shortly.

Well done, Mark. I didn't see the double glazing at all, and went right off track.
It's weird, I try to remember to refresh before posting, and am sure I did so this time, but now discover 3 posts in between my two that just didn't appear. Otherwise I would have stopped babbling on!

You babble away! It's so easy to get sidetracked isn't it (off track, sidetracked, oh 'eck) - must say something about the way our minds work that we see what we want to see and go off investigating it regardless.

              Try this one then.

              Cheers,

Nope. They have water in other places too.

Memorial to all the Cods that has gone into Fish-n'-Chips??
If so, we are probably in a fishing town in UK. My guess is Grimsby or Hull.

Whilst it is always important to take a minute to remember all the cod that have laid down their lives to be battered, no, 'fraid not. We're not in a fishing town in the UK.

GRUMBLE: I've just found that we can no longer multiquote in one post - at least I can't.
Ombugge and Mark: big chuckles at your two posts.

I have learnt a lot from the master of the devious answer in the 'What place' thread! I owe it all to you Ombugge!!

He's coming it a bit, isn't he?! Now just answer Yves' second question properly, there's a good lad.
