This is not my new car with the $exy cruise control but it is the vehicle that gets the most use around the house. Rear wheel drive with 9 horsepower and old fashioned drum brakes on only the rear wheels. I had removed the governor for a while but with weak brakes only on the rear it was a hazard so I now have it governed to a maximum speed of 18 mph (29 km/hr).

Street legal nowhere and a fake Nevada license plate (CRAPS) to prove it.

I have aggressive tires on the back for traction in mud and snow. It will reliably go through snow until it's deep enough for the frame to start dragging in the snow. A lot of fun when we do get snow since our road usually does not get plowed. After people drive on it a few times the snow gets packed down nice and slick and the golf cart can power slide through turns.

Not to be outdone by Janihudi I have dressed up the dash of my vehicle as well. I bought her in Maui, Hawaii 8 years ago and she's been on the dash ever since. Last year the cat thought she was fun to bat around and she broke at the hips. Luckily a little plastic epoxy fixed her up good as new and she really dances when bouncing along the forest trails.

Nothing says high class like a hula girl on the dash.

I dont think I answered a question from the previous page in this thread.
To get the 50cc drivers lisence, You have to be 16, participate at a few lessons out in traffic and some classroom tests.

On the same page there was a picture of Olaf's bikes (We now know that the Tempo Corvette is a 1982), I said I was going to be driving the Tempo. But, I changed my mind and wanted a bike of my own, sharing doesnt seem to work that well. And today, my bike arrived in Harstad onboard the northbound Hurtigrute "Midnatsol". It was sent from Rørvik , and it is a 1989 Honda MT5, just like Olaf's, and 8 years older than his, but It have only done 5500 kilometers which is less than his

A helmet on a bike is like the seat-belt in a car- I feel naked without it The bike will be used a lot when I turn 16, before that only for the lessons And when we turn 16, me and Olaf have already planned the first trip, were we start in Harstad, drive to Refsnes and board the ferry to Flesnes, continuing through Sortland and Stokmarknes to Melbu, were we board the ferry over to Fiskebøl. From Fiskebøl, we drive to Svolvær and have lots of time before the ferry over to Skutvik(Hamarøy) is departing. At Hamarøy, we'll head to Drag and get some photos of the ferry before we drive to Bognes and catch the Lødingen-ferry From Lødingen we'll be going home 314 kilometers in total, about 6 hours spent on the bike and 4 hours onboard ferries

Great to see such a bike Kristan. Here in Sweden people are mostly driving those silly scooter alike bikes. Have fun, take care!

I had to smile about your detailed trip plan. I was the same at these times. I couldn't wait for it. And it was so much fun!
I wish you all the best.

…and I can’t wait for the trip photos! – but meanwhile, what I meant to say earlier was just how wonderful it seemed to me that the bike arrived by Hurtigruten. I know, I know, it’s normal, I have spent hours leaning over ships’ railings watching stuff being unloaded…but somehow having the personal connection and having met you there in Harstad recently…and then looking at your photo of the bike in #114…was an emotional reminder of what hurtigruten is all about.

I shall bookmark this sequence to show folk who think it’s only cruise ships.

Absolutely - that's the attraction for me too - ships that carry people, cars, animals (in the doggie lugar!), beer, bikes, bodies, groceries, outboard motors, chains, fishing buoys, everything! Bless the cruise passengers too, they're part of the mix. For me that's the attraction of the newer boats too - yes the old ladies are stunning and proper ships - but the cargo decks on the mid and new boats are BIG, and a lifeline to many of the villages further north and on the islands.
                                Cheers,

                                Mark.
