Hahaha...., actually we drove down to the fuelstation and he refueled for NOK 300,-.
He got half tank, just as we do who own normal cars.

The thing is, he seldom do 'kickdown's and drive in a nice and relaxed way. The car is a veteran (over 25 years) and so does not have any fee from the state on using the roads (almost NOK 4000,-/year for us others not driving a veteran car) and the car is so old it has something called veteran insurance (NOK 400,-/year).
This added to the fact that it is almost not used during the wintertime, I guess the fuel consumption and cost for this car compared to my Ford Escort would be close to break even...??

Re: Random Pictures of Cars, Buses, Trucks...

Great images of that Skoda. Remember a neighbour had the exact make and model, AND colour back in the 1970s.
Many people asked him if he wanted to sell, but he owned it until his death.
Don't know where that car went. It might be this one...? But then again, what's the odds...

So, I see Joakim visited Kristiansund during the Car & Motorcycle Day.
Apropos american cars in Kristiansund, a policecar driving past my home cought my attention earlier this evening.
Why would I even lift an eyebrow just because a policecar passes by...??
                Take a look:

                PHOTOGRAPHER: Atle Bjørnar Bratset

This is a model 1999 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptorex. California Highway Patrol, imported to Norway by a guy from Kristiansund and picked up in Drammen just a few days ago.
He claims it's the only one in Norway...., but turning my brain upside down, I belive I remember I've seen such a policecar in this country a few weeks ago, in a magazine.

                EDIT:
Checked up on that policecar I seemed to remember seeing in a magazine.
It was an american policecar all right, but an all green model 1970 Ford Custom 500 from West Palm Police. Restored for US $25.000,- back in the States in 2006 and imported to Norway in 2008.
Since 2008 it has been parked in a garage, and is in fact for sale. So if you got NOK 100.000,- you could be the proud owner of a policecar known from the Dirty Harry movies and such....

Re: Random Pictures of Cars, Buses, Trucks...

I also saw another US police car in the paper a few weeks ago: it was one from New York I recall....

That was also the only one in Norway: could be the only one of that mark, from that police force or something. I guess it is all about how you put it.

But the strange thing that I do not understand is how are these permitted on the roads in Norway?

Here in Trondheim, ANYTHING that even remotely looks like a police or emergency car, is totally banned. I remember reading a story about the PARODI police car (instead of POLITI) and another story about a car which had a blue light INSIDE his tail pipe (police fined him some x.xxx kroner because it could give associations of a police car...).

Thank you so much for that Scania-Vabis boxer truck in #234, Jan-Olav!!!
Such vehicles are very much to my liking...

Went through some old boxes tonight and found some old images.
Here are two showing the Volvo FS7 I used driving goods for Veøy Billag AS/Linjegods (now Schenker) from the terminal in Kristiansund to Tingvoll and Sunndalsøra.
Had that job for about a couple of years, and liked it very much. My own truck, being my own boss, driving around every day in beautiful Nordmøre.
(I'm only sorry it was way before my digital camera days).

But with the old analog Canon compact camera, heres the FS7 at the terminal after arriveing home from a days work

And in a breake alongside the Ålvundfjord on return from Sunndalsøra

Re: Random Pictures of Cars, Buses, Trucks...

Today, me and my family desided to drive to Oppdal.
We drove via Eidsvåg and Øksendalsøra to, and the usual way via Ålvundfjord and Tingvoll from.
(Remember that Skoda for sale in post #231..? Still there, still the same note in the windscreen)
Anyway, our dog needed a stretch and food, so we stopped at the now ex. grocery store at Øksendalsøra, just before entering the tunnel to Sunndalsøra (J-O would know where, I guess).

                            To make a beautiful and interesting day and story short;
BEHIND that ex. grocery store, sort of hidden, was a "Aktiv" Snow Trac.

The story behind this particular design started in 1954, when the head designer of the swedish farmers equipment factory AB Westeråsmaskiner designed a trac driven vehicle to take him and his brother fishing on ice covered waters in the wintertime.
Production started in 1957, and the rest is history...

What a cool looking vehicle and the steering wheel is even on the right/correct side. I have no idea what I would do with it, but it would be fun to tear up the lawn or chase the neighbor's dogs.

Some Close up pics of a 03 Ford Mondeo TDCI. The time has come to sell this one, and I took these pictures for the sales ad, BUT, my dad forgot to use them. I told him that if he used one of these as the main picture, people looking for a car would scroll back up and check it out....
