Very powerful looking trucks. You do not see guards like those in the USA.

I'm surprised, I thought the term "Cow Catcher" was an American thing, or is that just down south?
As a curiosity, the term has been adopted to the Offshore industry, where it is used to describe Anchor Bolsters, as seen here:

          Sorry, OT again.

Trains had cow catchers but our trucks do not. The only other place I had seen them like that on trucks is in Australia.

Ah, so that is where the name Cow Catcher come from. In Norway I presume they are more Elk, or Reindeer, catchers?
              In Australia probably kangaroo catchers?

I notice that the read Falk rescue truck has chains hanging on the front. My son, who drive big trucks for the Post in Norway, tells me that they have something called a "kjettingslynge" (chain thrower?) which does the job of fixing chains very simple.
Can any of you "truckers" up there explain how that works???

                (MOWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...... )

I think this is a beauty beyond much on four wheels, but that's me.
It takes 4.000 hours to make, don't know the price.

Oh, you plan to partisipate in the Dakar Rally?? This is a tough and beautiful (in my eyes) model of the VW Touareg, designed specially for the Paris-Dakar rally...

Not the Paris - Dakar rally, but the newly invented Trondheim - Kristiansund rally!
