Your own: complete with airhorns, lights and heaven-knows what-it-is decal on the side of the cab. Does look smart, Thijs.

That thinghy on the side of the cab is a griffion.
The trade mark of scania. As the star is for mercedes

the difference between the trucks is that the resin model (the top model) is a flatbed truck,so can load everything that fits on the truck

while mine (lower model) is a real container truck

but it was expensive enough for him he said, the only extra he wanted was the lightbar,
and let made his own company decaks
while i ,well i did some more

Nowadays it,s hardly im use anymore.
All goes by the smartphone now.
        Is easier, it's 2way comunication

spray painted the chassis of the duel truck black aswel the underside of the tanktrailer
and spraypainted the underside of the reefertrailer red with the parts that goes under.
i had sprayed them first because otherwise i can't reach al the narrow places of them.

finally after 30.007 times the pins behind the ladder hold
had made then now with copper pins and the 2 components glue, and let them dry now for 2 days, and it holds

      best regards Thijs

Hurrah! After all those attempts you won through.
Now put the copper pins and the special glue together in a bag and label it clearly, then hang it on a peg somewhere so that you can easily find it again (Some hope, he-he)

          Crafty so-and-so.

        painted the exhaust brown

also the steel suspension is rusting all the way
        spray painted the catwalk too
the Original didn't had that, but now i can cover the adhesive bonding and make the chassis some stronger there

yesterday picturepush was again against me ,but also sprayed the roof for the trailer cover white

and made the reeferetrailer complete red, besides the roof

          best regards Thijs

didn't make images of it,but it's a hell to tape the underside before i can start spraying the brown paint

but here is the first layer

then was cover the reefer trailer with tape so much easier.
this was a few years old demotrailer, with some rust, thatswhy was the complete trailer sprayed red.
and red it was because of we drove then for Nestle, and the trailer would get a kitkat advertising

now only have to paint some smaller things like the aitsuspension
            best regards Thijs

just a pitty that i don't have the american mirrors, otherwise the cab was painted too

the last one were i get the maskingtape off ,and that went wrong
i only taped the lines, the bigger parts i cover with paper.
the paper was sooked with paint, and sticked at the roof.
                meaning ,can start over again.

                best regards Thijs

But can't you just mask the sides using strips of tape along the top edges which will also hold paper hanging down the sides, and then respray the top? All those other spraying jobs look really fine, Thijs. You have a lot of patience with such very fiddly tasks, and it is all coming out splendidly.

That is what i will try anyway , the problem is that the bleu you see on the rooftop is dried paper.
I have to sand it, and that you will see in the new piant,

Is the paper completely paint covered, or is there just a chink of paper showing anywhere? If so, you could try soaking the chink with plain water and maybe that would gradually penetrate between the white paint and the blue bits. Then peel it off.

Didn't do anything the past 2 days.
we removed al the Chrismas junk out of the house.
and bring it back to the attic.
tidy everything there too, shifting it from here to there and back again.
because.of this weekend there wold be the time for it.
the past 2 days Wesley's truck was parked here, and
Now it's HC turn to park there.

Picked up the HC this evening.
cleaning the inside and stuf al the rubbisch back in again.
maybe some work for the dash table, otherwise qiuck back to the models
                  best regards Thijs

Yes, I've been thinking about the dashboard table as you mentioned a while ago that you'd bought some stuff for it, but I keep forgetting to ask about it in my mails. Are you going to do that great walnut staining on it like in the old HC? That was very effective. (Don't you dare say you can't be bothered.)

Oh, you naming that image has brought back a memory stretching into the distant past, to a wonderful story book that my parents had bought me. The tales were fascinating and there was one which I have never forgotten - "The Griffin and the Minor Canon" (A canon is a minor member of the Church of England heirarchy.)
I tried Googling for it and there it is, see http://www.classicshorts.com/stories/griffin.html
It is well written and with a strong moral tone, but quite amusing. I must try and find some of the other tales. perhaps even the book itself - I remember exactly what it looked like and would love to buy a copy.
I wonder what significance the griffin had for Scania?

                    1)Searched for book.

                    3) Have just bought it
                    4). Arrives Friday/Saturday

I had thought hard and felt sure it had "Golden" in the title, found Golden Treasury books but they were just fairy tales, while "mine" were about all sorts of things/people. Then, using "Miss Prune and Miss Prism (yes, another of the tales in my book!) I came across a forum with a page for people like me searching for a book with minimal clues to work on. And there it was, someone looking for their childhood book containing the above story and describing it as having a blue linen embossed hard cover. My book exactly.
Another forum member came up with the full title and from there it was easy and I soon found it on eBay.
                    Can't wait for Friday/Saturday.
                    Yes, long OT. No apologies

The griffin is chosen as logo when scania and vabis merged together as scania- vabis.
The griffin came from the arms of the Swedish province Skåne were the factory is.
