My former car and still a dream car: Toyota Hilux (Vigo)

At our old board, I started a thread about my own dream car, a car I had for 4 full years and which I absolutely loved. The car had a 3.0 liter turbo diesel and was strong like a bull, and had comforts for thousands of miles on Thai roads.

The thread at the old board, with some images can be found here: http://captainsvoyage.7.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=44

I dream that one day, after finding a job, I will once again possess a car like this. And it might actually happen as the 3.0 liter engine has just been introduced in Norway.

In Thailand this car was called VIGO, but here it's just Hilux.

Some day, I hope to park a new one at my home...

With best regards from Jan-Olav Storli

Here's that very red Hilux again. This is when Clarkson and May took it to the North Pole a year or two ago. I await the new series of 'Top Gear' to see why they were up the side of a Volcano with a bunch of scientists!

That pick up is definitely souped up by the world famous car customizers at Arctic Trucks.

                      I LIKED it!

I liked the way seeing the movie is seeing the car as you did, walking around and around, taking in every detail, in love forever with such a car as this…that look, that smile as you drive away.

Men and their toys. Did you see that grin on his face?? Sometimes it needs not much to make a man happy!
I know that feeling so well.

Well, I like the fact that it's dirty. A vehicle like that should not be clean. Bolt a spare tire to the roof, add a snorkel & winch and you have serious street credibility.
