Transport Historical Society Norway - Meeting 30. July 2011

Transporthistorisk Forening (Transport Historical Society) in Norway had a meeting at Lyngstad near Eide at Nordmøre Saturday 30. July.
As I spent the week-end at my inlaws hut, it was only a short drive via the Atlantic Road for me before being at Lyngstad.
I took about 140 pictures that day and finally managed to chose just over 70 to show you. (I bet 'janihudi' will sit in front of his pc drewling...).

A very nicly restored Scania-Vabis 56 of Visnes Transport, a huge local transport company also of today

    The SV 56 behind a Volvo F88

Details from the SV 56 grill

A Ford Transcontinental. This model was not particularly popular in Norway for reasons unknown to me.

A couple of Volvos and a couple of Scanias. Swedes both...

One of the nicest from Volvo, the F88. I got my truck license on a F89, which different from the 88 has a sleeper cabin.

I don't belive this was one of the original colours you could chose from when buying a Scania in those ages. But, what do I know...
        Here's a Scania 111 Super

A detail from this 111, the Scania logo on theengine hood

An old swedish firetruck, Scania 80

An old Mercedes. Don't know the model though

An old Mercedes 1313, which I have driven myself. Not this one, but a similar one at a distributor of groceries in the early 1990s
(Our norwegian members would have heard of KØFF, later HAKON)

          A shortnosed Scania-Vabis 36

I'm not sure, but this was considered a large Mercedes...., the model 1624

A smaller model was this Mercedes 911

                    The old Magirus again

An old Austin truck from 1956, I belive the owner told me.
His father owned this, and todays owner took his truck license with this Austin. This is the only one operational in Norway, and upon driving to a meeting in London, England...., he was also alone there.
I don't know how many of this type there is still active, but it can't be many then...

                    Detail from its hood

I thought it was a wreck, but this former norwegian firetruck is for sale at NOK 65.000,- (!!!!)

                    A more modern Volvo N10

And a familiar one for me, as I used such a truck to take my truck license..., the Scania 110 Super

Woooooooow!! How about a round of applause for a fantastict post! These are just brilliant!!!!!!!!!
I've gotta say that these hit the spot with me, I love old trucks & cars, something very unique and historical when you have these gathered in one place.
I love the macro shots Sterkoder, it really brings out the quality of the workmanship, it has to be good considering that macro shots always show such detail.
Okay, how do I get here?!!!! lol
Infamy, Infamy.... They've got it in for me! Said The Laughing Assassin.
