Nice weather on Friday - we continued to prepare our cars for the summer. New seats and automatic seat belts fitted in my Midget. Next action will be the replacement of the front wheel bearings, the TÜV and on the road in June.

Where men becomes boys...., a great place. Love to see pictures from others who also have a passion for old cars

Fantastic to see still surviving cars with wooden panels integrated with the steel. Those are truly rare these days, in the age of plastics and carbon-fibers.

Now, that is a beauty of a car! Any idea which brand and make it is?

I would like to say Opel but.... I'm no expert in that field.

I tend to agree and say Opel Record from the 1950/60, but also not an expert.

You are right. Exactly it is an Opel (Olympia) Rekord P1. This was built from 1957 until 1960. It was the first model with US-style panoramic windows.
They built half a million cars of this type. It was a big success. It had a new constructed chassis and a 1.5 liter engine with 45 hp. (later 50 hp + 1.7 liter 60 hp).

Another veteran car of German origin seen parked in Aalesund today:

Ralf will probably furnish all the details soon, if not beaten by Sterkoder.

I remember that model from the motion picture "48 hours" where it played a rather important role.

This is the original first serial model (1948-1955). It is easy to recognize by the front window. It contained of two parts and since 1952 it was in one piece but with a kink in the middle. It seems that this one is even still without the Porsche badge (coat of arms) which was still designed around that time. The white steering wheel is original. Can't say for sure, which motor is built in here, but i believe to identify the number on the hood as "1500". This one had 55 HP. Very nice and rare! Even the Porsche Museum does not show this model.

Maybe not a veteran, but an unusual car for Aalesund, a "Party Limo" for rent:

Maybe something to consider when you visit Aalesund next??: https://www.pp-entertainment.com/

For anyone who doesn't know, this is a 1958 Buick Super Riviera.

I just have to say that I LOVE that bus... these are the kind of buses I remember from my own childhood, back then in the liveries and paint-schemes of MØRELINJEN and KLÆBURUTA.

Still remember me and my late brother sitting on the engine-box shouting "kjætt-kjætt-kjætt" imitating the sound of the chains on the winterwheels... good times.

Spotted this vintage Mercedes 280 SE in Aalesund today:

I owned a similar 1972 model 280 SEL back in the 1980's, but white in colour:

NICE! That is a proper MB! I love and remember those massive cars during the earlier years of my life. I love the way they look and the presence they make on the road - it's like a statement that if you had only worked a little bit harder, you might as well have had the opportunity to have a car like that!

Mmm, I love Morgans. This one could be a Plus 4 or a Plus 8 - hard to tell from this angle.

Forgot to post this one, seen on top of Dalsnipa in May, just after the road up there opened.
Maybe not a veteran in the true sense, but nice:
