      During the later race.

      Our German competitor: NSU Prinz

These and the Fiat Abarth sounded great. As loud as the big ones!! But the fastest were the Minis.

        Re: Veteran Cars

It was possible to go everywhere. So there were great meetings in the paddock:

You could even go inside the pits and the pit lane.

Completely different race series changed all 30 minutes, so a lot of action and different impressions on the track. The CanAM and LeMans sport cars:

More or less historic Formula cars:

          Big touring cars:

Also a lot of historic race transportes and trucks could be seen, for example here an ultra seldom Alfa Romeo:

A lot of visitors came also to club meetings, here the US car corner, only disturbed by the Rallye Mercedes of one of our neighbours.

            The BMW's:

            Size comparison: Alfa, Mercedes, Goggomobil.

                  Re: Veteran Cars

I appreciate your comments, thank you. Yes, it was a wonderful day. It is one hour to drive from my home. We were early, so got a parking space directly under the tribune. We were so close to everything, you were even allowed to touch, we heard such a lot of different sounds. So great to see the cars moving, to hear them and to smell them. A total difference, than see them quietly standing in a museum. It was a much better experience as our F1 visit two years ago. There it was totally overcrowded, you have been far away from the happening, and you had to watch the race at TV in the evening, to follow it and see the result.
On such a day here, you are part of it. I can highly recommend such an event. By the way: it is much, much cheaper. We payed 54 Euros for the whole family including free access everywhere and free parking.

By the way, BuddhaJoe, thank you for your car history, I overlooked it for some reason (expected them more in the "Show us your own ride(s)"-Thread. Nice cars. One of my neighbours is still driving a Saab 94 Combi and a car mechanic nearby has one of those Audi Coupés on his area (but rather rusty after years standing outside).

Well, our day out was actually to see the animals (see Animals thread), but there was also an MG Owners Rally at the Wildlife Park. Just a couple of shots of some absolute beauties!!

                              Cheers,
