I do hope Lookchin was not traveling by air, would not want him stuck at an airport for ages because of the volcanic ash disruption to flights in and out of Scotland.

There you can follow him online using the tracking number.
        It is the "parcel AIS"....

Still no sign of Lookchin . . . he won’t be cold wearing Aunty E’s woolly jumper, but I’m scared he might be scared . . . though he is a brave bear, so it’s probably just me that’s worried about him – if only I had been able to come and collect him in person .
At least flights at EDI are operating again.

Which day exactly did he leave?????
Did they say an estimated number of days delivery takes?????
Is he trackable as Ralf wondered?????

I was wondering if Lookchin would be able to watch the Grand Prix of Spain with you today, Aunt C....but I am sure he is fine. Probably taking snaps of volcanic ash as I type!!!!!

Has "the Bear" arrived in Scotland yet, Seagull????

Perhaps he's gone on an expedition to find Chief Pilot Troll Tobben?, or maybe Lookchin has known the whereabouts of the chief all along, and is now out celebrating his new found freedom with his friend?

And just incase some of you are not aware of Chief Pilot Troll Tobben, you will find information about him on the old forum - http://captainsvoyage.7.forumer.com/...pic.php?t=1280

Not yet, but he was still in Norway a few days ago having had some unscheduled adventures at the post office!!!!!!!!! . . I am now hoping that he will make it by Monday – he will be so hugely disappointed if he has to spend National Day in a parcel

As for the search for Chief Pilot Troll Tobben, that sounds a more suitable assignment for Sea Troll, although he too has been impatiently looking forward to the Bear's arrival.

I have never been a great fan of "post i butikk" (post office in the grocery store), and not more when I realized he has been sitting under the counter at the grocery store for 2 weeks!

I went to buy some groceries a few days ago, and asked the lady which is in charge of the post office corner, why he hadn't arrived. A small search, and a long talk about new staff, new routines, new procedures, incorrect handling (+ bla bla bla)... , she eventually found the tiny box ... UNDER THE COUNTER!

Naturally, she took charge right away, and made sure he was properly on his way, but the fact of the matter, is that they had not done as they were supposed to.

I miss the real post-offices we had before: this kind of thing never happened there.

                    Thank heavens you asked!!!!

Did he gain any weight hanging out in the grocery for two weeks????

Rather famished... after spending two weeks under a hot counter.

Just pure luck I thought about asking the lady in charge of the postal corner... thank heaven I did. I wonder how long it would have taken for them to realize the box had not been sent.... two weeks seems like an awful long time in a place where everything SHOULD be cleared as soon as it's received.

Ummm, maybe not entirely luck because I had been pestering you rather a lot! . . . not here yet. . . how was he travelling . . . did they say estimated number of days for delivery etc. etc. . . .

Well, it’s now Saturday evening and there won’t be any delivery here till Monday, so Lookchin will definitely miss the start of the National Day celebrations which begin in Edinburgh at 7am
Even so, I shall be there to hopefully take a particular photo which I expect to be suitable for Skyscape 365.

Meanwhile, Sea-Troll, Wild-Bear and someone you haven’t yet been introduced to, have taken to living in a box so as to empathise with Lookchin’s predicament. I thought that was rather a touching gesture, and you can see he has dear friends here who are constantly thinking about him and concerned for his welfare.

He was eventually sent on his way as a letter (cheaper, but no tracking possible)... she sad 5 to 8 days, so I guess over the weekend would be a safe bet. Most likely Monday... indeed I do hope so.

It was jusr before noon yesterday morning that a Royal Mail post office van arrived with a very special delivery.

Lookchin had arrived safely in Edinburgh!

I wondered how I should greet him, meeting him for the first time. My naturally demonstrative North of England manner on meeting a dear darling bear I felt I already knew so well might come as a bit of a shock to him - a Thai-Norwegian bear might perhaps be expecting a certain degree of formality. Goodness, I was almost nervous as I oh so carefully unfastened the top of the little box, and gently opened the blue wrapping inside.

A little face peered out, an arm emerged, and we shook paws . . . well you know what I mean –my hand held his paw in a proper polite greeting. I fancied I could hear him muttering a well-rehearsed welcome speech (and he’d had plenty of time to think about it with the delay) in what sounded like a curious mixture of Thai and Norwegian.
But then he remembered he was supposed to be speaking English, laughed to himself, and emerging further from the box said in what can only be described as a demanding tone “Please cuddle me”!

But by the time I had lifted him out of the packaging and given him a hug he was already fast asleep!

He is tired after his long journey as you would expect, but is very very happy. Tomorrow, after a familiarisation course on how to use a pc instead of a MAC and a Nikon instead of a Canon (can’t imagine what came over Jan-Olav to allow Lookchin into such an environment!) he will be able to post in this thread himself.

I am so thrilled to have him here!

Awwww....... dear Lady C, and my good friend Lookchin, so good to see him arrive well and safe.

Remember to be very strict with him and don't give in when he starts begging for cakes, candies, TV-time... and so on. He can be a very spoiled bear sometimes. !
