What a brilliant auntie you have been! These shots are not only incredibly cute, but your photographic skill is so evident here.

He is indeed a very photogenic bear, and so is Berns as well! Top notch!

So good to hear from you Lookchin darling.
I had to post my 365 today, and I’ve been rather busy posting some photos of Singapore on another thread, but I’ll take turns with those and post more of your photos soon…promise!
(I think this smiley can mean hugs and cuddles too...)

The day after the happy time with Berns in the park it was raining once again. In retrospect I am very thankful that I selected a photo of him watching the rain on the window (included in post #275 ) to include in my 365, because in many other respects he was up against many setbacks and disappointments at that time. He had become surprisingly enthusiastic about getting out to local events and activities, but that was harder said than done, and not only due to the weather. At least not in the getting wet sense, but my assistance was going to be required at a meteorological conference down in England which unfortunately coincided with the family fun day in the park that Lookchin had been looking forward to. (Berns was less disappointed because he wasn’t a numbered duck and could not have participated in the swimming race, although he would have liked to watch!).

Other opportunities and events that appealed to Lookchin also got changed. There had been a moment of excitement when these notices started to appear …

… but it turned out to refer to some traffic restrictions along a road that would be the route for the Pope on his way to Glasgow as part of a State Visit.

Even the myriad of things going on in Edinburgh during the Festival eluded Lookchin. He did insist on accompanying me to a concert at the Queens Hall though, and got excited at seeing a BBC van parked outside, but that concert was not being broadcast so he didn’t get to see inside…

…even though he sat waiting on the wall just in case. I tried to explain that these are the people that just record the music, and would not interview a visiting bear even if he had come all the way from Thailand! Now if I’d said “Norway” I might have avoided the major tantrum that happened next!!!...

…but there were only a couple of performances remaining and it couldn’t be fitted in.

Maybe the last day really was booked up, or perhaps Aunt C had another show booked, but I’m sure she thought I might try to get back to Thailand with these guys. The show takes place in the Meadows in a big tent a bit like a circus, and they had caravans and there was a sort of café bar area. I got really close up even though it wasn’t open just then. Look, it’s just like Thailand in Edinburgh! I wish my Dad was here to see this.

Aunt C explained that she wasn’t really cross with me for being so what she calls demanding and she would have liked to have gone to the Bangkok show too. She even said she would buy me some lunch at a local café bar as a treat to make up for the things I missed out on doing. It was really yummy…

I think this is Aunt C’s and the banana and ice cream is for me….but she has a small appetite and I bet I’ll be allowed a piece of shortcake too.

There’s a trendy bistro on the top floor of a department store in town. I think Aunt C keeps forgetting that I am used to such places since my cruise. The service didn’t seem quite as good as on the ship, but it could have been because they hadn’t seen me as the bar stools are too low for me.

                            I think I’ll try this fish….

Things have certainly changed since my earlier time with Aunt C when I had to be carried in her rucksack when we went out. I am even allowed out in the supermarket now! She said D would help keep an eye on me, but it didn’t look like he was. D hardly ever goes shopping. I noticed he was putting his sort of thing in the trolley, such as easy microwave meals and even chips!

So I thought I would do some shopping for my sort of things. There is a Thai shop nearby, but even in the ordinary supermarket there were all these things! I wonder how much I can hide underneath D’s chips in the trolley without Aunt C noticing?
