    Annie Lennox...

Whilst running the danger of being called "old-fashioned", I just have to admit that I love this song.

I'm with you there Jan-Olav, it reminds me of a time when everything in my world was good & decent. A time when good times and lots of fun were the normal thing. If I could go back right now... I would!

Love some of the music from that era, but as Sterkoder, I do NOT miss the clothes we wore and the hairstyles we sported....

No, don't be affraid to speak up, we've all been there: red leather jackets (blue or black for some), fancy light coloured dress jackets with huge shoulder pads and folded up sleeves, blue or yellow leather shoes, red, blue, yellow or black leather ties, Poco Loco shirts and everything...... We must have looked odd...

                Jepp...., right on...

And for some odd reason, most of us look back on the 80's as some ride through paradice or something.
(And thinking back, it damn right was really close).

Firstly, I agree also with Jan-Olav, a great song indeed, certainly nothing wrong with that sort of music from the 1980's! And i just have to agree with the comments about good times back then. For some reason i just look back at the 80's and think 'boy, life was so much easier back then, easier and so much fun'.
I do not know why, but life just seemed so stress free. My memories are just full of always going out somewhere, exploring new places and basically up for just about anything! (All decent and above board i must add - well, ok, most of it!) I guess one reason is because for the best part of the eighties i didnt have a car, so no worries about stopping in the nearest pub and having a drink or two. Basically back then me and friends used to just go East Croydon train station and jump on the first train along, not caring where we ended up. And if it was the weekend we would take a tent or two with us.
I guess back then we did'nt have so many reasons to stay at home -Donkey Kong, Pac Man and Asteroids were good, but not that good! 4 channels on the tv, or a trip down to the local video shop to hire a VHS. I think the most modern thing i had in my bedroom was my CB radio (Boy, will someone remind me why i used to sit up all night on that thing?), but it was a good way of keeping in touch with my mates so we could discuss where we were going to tomorrow! And besides, i was the only guy for miles that had a light right up on top of his 3/4 wave length aerial. Why, why, oh why?. But who cares, it was all fun - or at least it seemed like that at the time, yep, even my dodgy mullet hair cut, even that seemed ok back then!
These days of course i will happily sit for hours in front of my computer screen, i will sit for hours playing games that have got just too damned clever for their own good. But what i dont do of course is go out all the time, that's probably due to the fact that these days i have a car to run - that costs so much to keep on the road i could not possibly afford to go out galavanting all over the place just for fun - perish the thought!

But anyway, that's enough - damned nice song though
