Celebreties burying their social networking sites

Celebreties burying their social networking sites

This appeared in Norwegian media recently. Famous artists showed themselves in a coffin and afterwords burryied their socal networking accounts...

Hmmm..... pretty dramatic, if you ask me.

I would like to hear, if there are any of the members that have any opinions about this?

Oh, those "dead" photos are too weird for words...oh, and I do think they do it for the shock value and the extra exposure they got for it...no doubt.

Much rather see a donation as you say pakarang; now that might make me respect them a lot more.
Glad I’m not the only one to feel a little uncomfortable with such stunts.

That is my thought as well: I'm in for anything that can raise substantial money for a good cause, but (there is almost always a but), I have a problem accepting this dramatic way of doing it:

    - firstly, I'm not into the casket style of photo, and secondly, these so-called good-hearted superstars do have an agenda to accept this as well: they want more fame... (though, in this instance, it helps a good cause). I'm convinced they didn't do this for free though: I bet they demanded seriously high commissions to have themselves photographed like this. They could instead donate a fair share of their wealth to a good cause instead... am I too picky on the details?

Lady G(aga) indeed!!!!! – arghhhhh Elizabeth, Lady C and Lady E abstaining from CVF????? – it’ll never work!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, perhaps I may seem heartless when such sums have been raised for good causes, but I am generally cynical and uncomfortable when hearing anything about Celebrities and Charities in the same sentence. Cheap tacky publicity for the celebs, but at least it seems that this particular stunt backfired on them to some extent, as the sums took longer to raise than they seem to have anticipated!

Yeapp, you are right Lady E... but what I was asking, is what do you all think about this stunt?

Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian and Ryan Seacrest "digitally died" to raise money for the "Keep a Child Alive" charity. They raised $1Million in only a day or two...
