Ivo Caprino : a Norwegian legend

Ivo Caprino : a Norwegian legend

This is a man I have an outmost respect for, he has created some of the fondest childhood memories for me and one of the greatest cars to ever take to the Norwegian roads, the Il Tempo Gigante (link to thread at OLD forum).

Here is his website, with some video clips of his stories (and yes, I know Lady E will simply love some of these clips):

    Caprino's Anniversary Box Trailer:

    Il Tempo Gigante:

Digitalizing of the old movies, before and after:

Pinchcliffe Grand Prix (in Norwegian known as Flåklypa Grand Prix), probably one of the coolest children's movies ever made on this entire planet (if you haven't seen it, it's time to order yoruself a copy and watch it - it's the world's most translated children's movie):

It also comes as a game.

I'd love to learn more about the IL TEMPO GIGANTE, including her engines, images and life around the world.

PS: She recently closed down the Hell-tunnel in Trondheim on her return trip to storage at Hundefossen Park. The truck which carries the car broke down in the middle of the tunnel, and had to be towed to a repair shop.

The iconic car sitting on it's back was unharmed!

I wish I had known in advance that the car had been on display at Steinkjer.

Back when I was a child, in the 6th grade in 1976, we made a car in our class to represent our school during the national day (contitution day) 17th May.
The best school wins a drum after an evaluation of the procession, and in 1976 we won!
The person with the sunglasses to the right was our teacher in the building process, and we had one teacher to push, eight of us changed between draging the car and being side guards. Funny procession that was...!
(You know, the movie Flåklypa Grand Prix came in August 1975, and having this car ready for the 17th May the year after was sort of "in time" )

What in heavens name happened here???? Why haven't I replied to your question before...?
Well, better late than never, so I have to tell you that just when this picture was taken, I was one of four pulling the car.
We were 8 changing between pulling and walking guard, and that "Reodor" sitting there was lucky enough to sit behind the wheel for the duration of the march...
